    Nitrous

Just found a pretty good deal on a nitrous kit for my 01 GT. Just wondering if anyone had any advice as to anything else that I should do to the car to make it better suited for it, such as set up, parts that I should get, or any ideas in general. Thanks guys.

How much power you looking to add?

I wouldn't go to big of a shot of N20 on those 2V motors. They really can't handle much more of a power adder. If you want to spend big $$ and buy better internals, and block, then buy all means. But my guess is you don't want to do that.

I dont see why you couldnt do a smaller hit of the juice. As long as you're getting the fuel you should be ok. Try a step colder plug and dont engage the nitrous until 3k. Is it a wet kit?

Need more details on the kit. If it's just a simple wet kit, throw it on and put 100-125 shot in it. If 5speed get a window switch, get a colder plug, and a couple extra bottles when you start to go spraying all the time

Just remember to take the bottle out of the vehicle in the summer if its going to be sitting locked up in a parking lot baking . Oh and if your gonna torch the bottle in the staging lanes please don't do it around me or my kids, I'we'd like to live .

Agree with the above. I'd also get a handheld tuner and pull a couple degree's of timing depending on how big of a shot you are planning. You will need a blow down tube if it doesn't have one if you plan on going to the track with it. Fuel pressure safety switch not a bad idea either.

Just do your research before installing and using . Can be very dangerous if you don't know the facts and respect the bottle.

All good advice. And I'd recommend that you have a qualified shop do the work & tuning. Money well spent if this is uncharted territory for you.

I appreciate the info. Anyone have any idea as to where I could go to get a quick tune done and roughly what it costs to get it done? I live in Scottdale Pa, about 40 minutes south of Pittsburgh.

Rodeheavers Hotrod in Masontown. My opinion may be a little biased though. Tim is my brother. He tuned my nitrous and I've had no issues. I'm spraying a 175 hp at the tires hit. But my motor is built to handle a bigger hit.

I second Timmy Rodeheaver...and I'm not related to him. He's a site sponsor and he really knows his stuff. He did some work on my new 331, as well as the install and tuning. Probably not too far from you either.
