I actually think the '85 IROC's were the best-looking. Cleaner, crisper lines...and the rims were nicer.

Hey...back in my high school days the IROC's were better looking than the Vettes. And that's coming from a Mustang / Ford guy. A girl in my class had a black IROC with T-tops and we had a lot of fun cruising in it. It was just the 5.0 but it still moved and handled pretty well and didn't sound too bad either. Not all IROC's were owned by D-bags. Most of them were, but not all!

The 5.0/305 was the biggest engine you could get with the T-tops. The 5.7/350 only came in the solid roof or 1LE package cars and the 1LE was the only model designated for the 5.7 5 speed.

I thought that photo was a later model. The '85's were a lot better looking IMO.

How the hell can you tell? I thought they all looked the same from 85 to 89 with maybe slight changes in the wheels.

I have no idea what year it is but I did type in 1985 Iroc Z in google image search.

At the time they came out these were pretty sweet cars but you have to admit you'd have to be a pretty big D-bag to drive one now.....lol

The ground effects, the wheels, the pin striping, the seats.
85 had real short ground effects. Different wheels and a few other changes.

I think a 3rd gen iroc with a lsx swap would be pretty badass. Fun sleeper. I had a red 91 5.0 tbi RS back in the day. Looked good, but mega turd power wise.
