    Calling out 11.5-12.5 second cars

Let me kick this off by saying it's awesome to see the forum more active again, and great to see some familiar names.

This call out is extremely premature, but it's what we do in the winter, right?
At this point I haven't even broken in my newly rebuilt motor, let alone fully tune it. At any rate I'd like to line up some races for this year at PRP (or wherever).

My "between Mustangs" ride is a 2006 Ford Focus. Freshly rebuilt 2.0 with 10.4:1 forged pistons, rods, race bearings, ARP studs, very mild cams, Torsen LSD, water/meth injection, and a GT2871r turbo.
The ultimate goal this year is 11.9 in the 1/4 with 24.5x8 slicks. That means probably mid 12's until I learn to launch a FWD and start pulling weight.
Power estimate will be 375-400whp, depending on where I max out the turbo or fuel system.

I don't care what kind of vehicles I race. Once we line up at the track we're all drag cars.

Sounds perfect. Saturday nights will probably work best for me, too.
That Ranger sounds like a beast. What 60' for that 12.25?

Would a slightly bigger pump set you up? or higher fuel pressure? seems a shame to do such nice work on the motor with such a sweet turbo and have fuel limit you from unleashing the full potential.
I still say some motorsport 109 or sunoco 104 is the way to go, but I'm biased from my dodge days :)
From what I've been told a larger pump won't help. I'll need to go with a return setup, or at least a surge canister with a secondary pump. The stock pump and KB Boost-a-pump should get me to 400whp, which is also the top of the turbo. If I want over 400whp, I'll switch to a 3071R or 3076R and rework the fuel system. Honestly, I have no urge to go with a fuel cell in this car with a return setup so I'd look into a surge canister first.

I'll be going to as many of the street car nights at PRP
as I can. I will line up with anyone that wants to run.
    I have a black stockblock n/a 86 Mustang GT that I
bought new. Most of the time I run 12.3 to 12.5 or
    so, sometimes slower, sometimes faster.

hey man! glad to see you're rockin that focus!

In my opinion you are selling yourself short with an 11.9 on slicks with that setup. The 2871 is a sweet turbo and those slicks are going to let you hook. If you do water/meth injection or 100+ octane fuel (the latter would be the way I would go), my prediction is 407 whp and 11.7 territory if your 60 is in the low 1.8's or better (reasonable DA, etc).

Anyway, that car is way faster than mine, but lets gtg when I get down. I accept your challenge :) PRP, MIR, Atco, your choice.

I'd love to see 400whp with that 2871r. My fuel system might be the limiting factor. I'm trying stock fuel pump and BAP. 400hp will be at the bleeding edge. I'm running direct port meth injection with 4 healthy sized nozzles.
When do you plan on coming down? It's only been about 10 years since I've seen most of the crew here!

No.....my ranger does that. I'm giving up something on the top end. Down low it hits pretty hard and hooks great.

Will take a lot to motivate me to jump to go straight line racing again... but if there is a specific race to be setup I can be coaxed to showing up. lol.

I guess I will throw my hat into this conversation. My new turbo has the potential to go much faster than 11.5, I just don't know if I do lol. Car went 13.0@105 on a garbage 1.96 60' last year @ Norwalk on the 16G that's on it now. Something in the mid-high 11's is where I would like to end up eventually, on straight 93, once I get the tune dialed in on the new setup.

After that I want to add meth injection and then well... I have no idea where that will lead.

Sounds good to me. I love the those cars. I really envy the AWD. Hopefully I can learn my car well enough to cut a decent 60' in my FWD. The slicks were mounted yesterday. I'll put the traction bars on, and I might also need air bags in the rear springs.
