Possible 2017 GT500 at the drag strip being tested video

No idea if it's legit. PowernationTV seems like a somewhat reliable source though.

Key words in the video: "It MIGHT be..."

On the one hand, they might want to try and compete with the hellkitty in terms of either having more power or faster track times.

On the other hand, the handwriting is on the wall that the days of forcefed v8's are over. If the Ford GT is indeed returning with a twin turbo v6 (to the chagrin of purists), I can't help but think this is in response to year-by-year more stringent CAFE guidelines. In addition if their supercar is a TT v6, I think there's little chance that anything below it will have a forcefed v8.

IMO, thanks to emissions and fuel economy guidelines, the days of a forcefed v8 are over. :(

I say the guy was yanking the filmer's chain to throw them off with misinformation.

I actually think these are gt350 being tested at a drag strip

Also the days of the forced v8 aren't over. Remember the v6 in the gt is not some run of the mill Taurus engine. It's well built and the gt is supposedly under 3000lbs.

I still feel we can see the tt 5.0 like we did in the 2014 cobra jet concept.

I genuinely hope you're right re: forced v8s

I dig that with 900hp on tap the tt v6 isn't your F150's engine, but at the same time there's no reason I can think of why they wouldn't do a forcefed v8 in their flagship car other than fuel economy/emissions/cafe bs.

I agree with you, that a 2016 GT350 is far more likely what we're seeing.

The GT is a TT v6 so that it can compete in certain racing classes, akin the original gt40.
