    Lowering a Mustang

Quick question guys, I want to lower my 01 gt convertible. I found a set of springs really cheap. I know they do have springs specifically for convertible models, but does it really make a difference? I know the convertibles weigh about 100lbs more, but is there really a difference?

It will most likely just drop the car more than the advertised amount.... I.E. if it is a 1.5" drop spring for a coupe, you might get 1.6/1.7" on a vert. The spring rates will also be different from coupe to vert.
The springs themselves are physically the same though.

I bought a set of lowering springs that ended up being GT springs, and they only dropped my car about an inch or less (V6 are lighter, particularly in the front). I ended up selling them though.

Your convertible will be lower using coupe springs. Personal experience on that.
