Steel Guardrails - They need to go

Something I wonder about everything season that passes is if PRP will finally get rid of the steel guardrails. I'm not a fan of running at Quaker, and I really wish PRP would spring for concrete barriers.

Guardrails are dangerous as hell and I'm starting to cringe with every pass that I make. Watching cars get unnecessarily destroyed, and worse, drivers being badly injured or killed. When you hit them, they basically launch the car in the air--it's quite scary to watch what kind of damage can happen with even low speed collisions.

With that said, does anyone else feel the same? For those that do, would you be willing to support a drive of sorts to get concrete barriers installed at your track if they were still using outdated guardrails?

Costs money, lots and lots of money. Would it be nice, yes. I do think it is getting to point that it will have to be done. More so for insurance reasons. A steel guide rail done right will absorb a lot of the impact. A concrete wall will not. I've heard of a few ideas to put up walls but still well into six figures to do.

No, I don't give it a second thought when making a pass. Course I don't think if it when racing against something far faster like a dragster either. Shit will happen no matter what and no body can do a thing about it. Could step out your door in the morning and a rock could fall out of sky killing you too.

True is going to cost some money but wouldn't it save on insurance because of the updated safety?

OP why don't you like Quaker? I have been there a few times, I prefer the layout and the atmosphere in general compared to prp. I would say the only bad part is the uphill to the lanes. Can't watch anything for in the car.

Ed nailed it. Even if my junk was faster, I wouldn't give it a second thought.

I'd say at least half of all incidents on all tracks that I've seen are driver error.
