No Longer in the Steel City

Well, I've kept it pretty much under wraps, but today is going to be my last day in Pittsburgh....... For the last 8 years I've worked for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shiled, and i've chosen to take a job with another Blue Cross Blue Shield plan in Rochester, NY. But, I won't be leaving SteelCityMuscleCars - the internet goes everywhere.... but I may end up with some vehicle changes, as I'm not sure how well the Jag will do in the great-white-north in the winter time.

I start my new job tomorrow (i know, no time off - but its for health insurance reasons) and will be closing on my new home March 5th. Has a huge 3 car garage with 16' cielings, so I expect a lift will be going in by the end of the year (i'm told no lift until a dining room table and a new bed are bought)... I'll attach some pics...

I'll miss many of the friends i've met on this site, even being the hated GM guy since 2004 when i joined SCS.

Booo! I also work in Pittsburgh, can you guess for who with the boo comment? jk lol

I wish you luck on the home purchase, it looks beautiful. That is one thing I never want to do again but it was a learning experience.

I have had the same issues after purchasing a house. The wife and I have all these wants and remodeling/painting rooms. It adds up fast. I asked her last week to take a guess at how much we spent in the last 2 years on everything for the house and she wasn't even close.

Goodluck with the move and new job. I'm jealous of that garage! I've heard a good lift can be used as a dining room table and bed.

I worked for wpahs (ahn) for 4 years and left right as the merger with highmark was happening to start my own company with some other employees. I met a lot of nice people at highmark, it seems like a decent place to work.

thanks guys! I'm excited about the job, and excited about the house.... pictures do it no justice, as its really stunning. We looked at 10 houses the day we went, and i didnt even want to go to this one, as i didn't think the pics were that good... and when we walked in i was immediately sold.

I thought you were trying to get closer to Indiana/Armstrong County? You must have made a wrong turn somewhere!
