Awd cars seen to rule the fld's. True street cars that is.
Why does anyone care what tires someone else is running? If I recall correctly this event is for fun.

I know I have personally been yelled at by people at the FLD's who take the competitive portion of it very seriously. Some people aren't there for fun, they are there to win.
It really left me with a sour taste in my mouth that day, and that person (who is a regular at the FLD's, but is not on here, that I know of) can feel free to place my balls in his mouth, and suck ever so gently, whenever he feels like it.

Someone sat down and came up with a list of rules for a reason. I'm sure its due to insurance requirements (Same reason all cars must have valid inspection and registration, it's not just for fun and it is checked on the way in). The rules are in plain english. It doesn't matter what your intent is or how you don't think they apply to you.
I don't give a shit what tires you run but the people putting their necks out on the line to put these events on may and you may get asked to not run, not much you can protest at that point.
Same shit happened when PRP started their Street car Friday nights, people instantly started asking if they needed a plate, insurance, if their backhalfed funny car caged car could run etc.

LOL.
I love how early on in this thread you guys were discussing how lax the rules are and how there's a bunch of people on slicks there and now you guys have an issue with me running them on mine? My car has a bigger following than the entire event does, I was going to use this opportunity to promote the event with my huge reach in the car world (1320video, speedsociety, sloppymechanics, the car's own page, ect) but it's looking like I'm gonna have people causing trouble over stupid little things so forget that. I don't care if you're joking, you don't joke about causing damage to another person's car. If you think you have the balls to slash my wheels, I'll hand you the knife and you can do it right in front of me. Since we're using the "safety" issue (on my 10pt caged street car) as an excuse to keep my car from going down the track, how is having a dozen notches in the tires (ET STREETS) safer than having the same compound tire without the notches (ET DRAGS)?
I don't care what you run and would like to see the car run one way or another. But if the event organizers take issue with it then theres not much you can protest as it may be an issue of their event insurance coverage. More than likely you would be fine, there are plenty of cars there that bend the rules.

No reason to not go to the event. I would LOVe to see the event get that kind of coverage.
I know that I have seen people there on ET Drags (crazy supra 2 years ago) that were a lot wider than yours.
I wouldn't let this discourage you from attending the event at all.
