After all the recalls from both Ford and Chevy last year, it seemed that the littlest of the big three would go on unscathed. Or rather if it had anything to be recalled, it would only be scratched on the surface. But that all just changed. Ladies and gentlemen— more specifically Hellcat owners – brace yourselves. Dodge is recalling every Hellcat built.
Now before you all get into a funk or storm off to your local Dodge dealer to argue “things aren’t made like they used to be,” the recall affecting the Hellcat is only a preemptive one and no one has been hurt.

According to Chrysler, a dealer found a “potential” leak in a single Hellcat’s fuel system which caused the recall. It goes like this; a dealer was doing a pre-sale inspection on a new Hellcat. They saw that there was a little fuel coming out of the system and informed Chrysler, which preemptively recalled all the Hellcats to make sure everyone was safe.
In other words, Chrysler made the right call, especially when you consider this is a 707 horsepower monster that has the habit of turning all tires into smoke. You definitely don’t want to have a fuel issue or leak when those tires begin to heat up.

All in total, over 2,000 Hellcats are affected and will be brought into service in the next month or so to fix the potential issue. Although, it may turn out that most don’t need any fixing and this specific Hellcat was the only affected. After the car is fixed, owners can then go back to contributing to the Greenhouse Gas problem.
