thread from last one we had, wow it has been a while?
Typically Cheeks and I doing the leg work. I know he doesn't have the time like he used to but still do the pizza power tour every year.

Seems like a lot of people are afraid to attend events, usually welcome everyone to them. Ball busting is a big part of what everyone does to get some drama going and wound up. some know how to take it and some don't lol. I race an el camino for crying out loud not sure how much worse you can get. Gather some thick skin and learn to enjoy the days/events we do have. Time isn't as much as in favor but still try to get people out and about.

If someone wants to revive the bench racer let me know I will see what we can come up with. L:ooking like a full schedule racing this year but can always come and help out.

I would do everything I could to attend. Schedule is always packed, but you never know. Would like to meet a bunch more of yinz guyz in person.

that is the difficult part, hard to front the money for events without a guarantee getting reimbursed. None of the events done are for profit, just want to see people out and about again. Never looking for anything in return other than just have a good time and enjoy the day. But if someone wants to set it up and go for it I will always help promote the day.

Oh I understand completely that a solid commitment is needed from enough people to make it work. Sorry if that came out wrong. The last few years it has been tough to find time for anything but the PVGP. Been so busy I didn't even get to use all my vacation last year. Boy does it suck to lose vacation because you couldn't use it...

Yeah I been to the Super Stallion rental at Cecil quite a few times.....good time for sure!

Ive also been to the Hollywood Knights rental at Quaker quite a few times and also a very good event!

I know a rental is in the $3K range so finding someone to front the money and hope to get atleast the majority of it back is tough when most guys say...."if im not working i'll go" or "i'll try to attend"......No knock on those guys but its hard to dish out your own moola when you mainly have a bunch of maybes.......

I for one would 100% be in on any kind of rental and can pay my deposit immediately. Im willing to pay up to around $100 for a private rental......What do you guys think?

The comments here pretty much answer what I wanted to know about rentals (costs, what people usually do or don't do, existing rentals, etc).

I agree about the $100 thing. like I said this is my vacation time so I have schedule flexibility, and if the choice is $30 for a regular TnT or $100 for a rental, I'll take the rental any day.

Are any of those groups listed in this thread plan to do track days this year?

$100 per car, or per driver. I definitely would take my 86 Mustang, but would love some more dedicated seat time in my dd '14 Mustang.

If it's a Saturday or Sunday then I'm definitely down for $100. Especially if it's per driver, lol.

Based on this and the interest for doing it on a Sunday, either the 14th or 21st would work for me for a track rental.

I think its different for every track but this is what I have heard.

Tracks want money up front so most times some one from the club has to front the money and then get reimbursed by the members.

Some tracks rent out per lane so having both lanes is more. However this is good to split up the street tire guys from the DR/slick guys. Only takes a few street tires guys pulling water out of the box to ruin the fun for dr/slick guys.

Most tracks like to have the rental on the same day as a TnT night so they don't waste money prepping the track.

As for prepping the track... I have not been to a rental where the track is prepped very well so you might want to ask. I heard that most places charge by the foot after a certain point for putting compound down.
You are spot on here. Having it on the same day as a test and tune reduces costs, as insurance and track prep would be needed for the tnt anyway (PRP preps the whole track, regardless of event). It is more to run 2 lanes (insurance).

Having it on a Sunday would be more money per car as a result.

I'd be in for a Friday rental since TnT's are on Friday night if this saves costs.

Just a reminder, a Friday rental would have to be in the afternoon, before test and tune.

Then either people are going to love you for making a TnT happen, or I'm going to get flamed for yet another track day thread that goes nowhere
