Because of this, Mason Dixon is out in the 2nd half of June. Their sunday test and tunes start at 11:30am. I suppose we could try to get an early morning Sunday rental before the regular test and tune. Saturday is a race day there.

From what I can see, the following tracks have Sunday possibilities:
QCR seems to have Sundays available
MIR only has the 21st and for that long of a drive might as well try Atco as well.
Beaver Springs (with its 1% uphill grade being the "QCR of PA") is an option but I cant get their page to load.
    Numidia has the 21st
    PRP has Sundays

If anyone can think of other tracks worth investigating (I've been to Maple Grove as a spectator and the track looks VERY well kept. Lot of money in that place) post it up.
Mason Dixon is where I popped the head gasket on the Cobra last May. It was an ok track but the prep wasn't that great so don't expect the best time possible out of your cars. I did have fun! The rental I was at, ran to 11:30 and then we could enter into the TnT if we paid extra. That is when the track prep improved and I was hooking. So in short...I paid extra to blow my car up. LOL

Well I have been in touch with Maple Grove as they have Sunday June 14 available for rental. Although Mason Dixon doesn't have the best hook (sorry about your gasket ruthless :) ) might as well see if they are a "bang for the buck".

Another member is inquiring at PRP for prices. I'll shoot a few emails out to other places and see what their prices are.

I was just at Mason-Dixon's website and they list the fees for a track rental. I worked out the numbers and for a 20 car test and tune for 4 hours during the day it comes to $82.25 per person. If we need lights during the test and tune its an extra $33.00 a person for those 20 cars.

So, for $115.25 a person worst case you have 20 cars with 4 hours of Test N Tune. The same math for 30 cars comes to $71.50 for a daytime TnT, with an extra $22 a person if we have to run under lights.

EDIT - with a late June track rental the chances of needing lights for all 4 hours of a TnT are slim.

I have started to really like Mason Dixon for testing ... yes no doubt prep can be hit or miss there as far as dead hook, but I actually prefer to test on something not so perfect for what I race (prep usually falls apart during True Street passes) The other thing MD has going for it is low(er) car counts so you can actually test there.

If you are just looking to make passes and race each other don't overlook Steel Valley. Only 1/8th mile, questionable surface, but you can usually run the wheels of your car there.

I will desperately need a rental or good test session myself, but will likely join someone else's rental to get some testing in.
You make some good points as I'm finding out.

Can you wait until June for a rental? :)

How much extra for a low DA, nitrous fog at the starting line and no chance of rain?

I don't know if I can get a quote for you on that, but I know where we can include a voucher for some good painting if you need it.

Just got a short email back from Mason-Dixon. They won't do rentals before or after days with scheduled events, so Mason-Dixon would be a weekday.

Maple Grove got back to me. I told them between 20 and 50 cars TnT style with possibly some grudge racing. I was quoted $5k for 10am to 4pm. Gates would open at 8 for our group.

We'd need every bit of 50 cars to make that work.

Alright guys. I just got off the phone with PRP.

We will be having a SCMC track rental!

We are going to work out the details soon.

What do you guys think is a legitimate number of cars to expect?

Also. There is a pretty big difference in price having it on a Sunday vs Friday

Sunday will cost at least $1500 more.

Obviously too make this work we need a strong commitment from everyone

I have no problem with a Friday. The best is June 19. I can make the 26th but its the day after the Rush concert so its not optimal for me (I'd have to drive from Philly after being up late). I'm on vacation and want to race and set aside money to do it so I'm in for sure.

If its a Sunday, then either the 14th or 21st can work for me with the 28th also being possible.

I'm sure Cam would be in on this too.

How do they price compared to Mason-Dixon? MD has their fee schedule right on their website. For their Friday TnT wants 650 for the first car + 55/car for cars 2-10 + 50/car for cars 11-20, so if you average it out for 20 cars its 82.25 a person.

Glad you posted this. I didn't mind organizing it but was going to ask for help since everything I do would be in CAD so Id get hit with exchange fees twice (once to collect money, once to pay a track).

I'm certainly in for a Friday. Also depending on the increased cost.
