Oh IE8, How I loathe you!

As a software engineer, when a customer only uses IE8, it makes me want to switch professions.

You have to remember, that the vast majority of users don't have the slightest idea that there are different web browsers out there, nor do they want to switch because that is what they have used forever.

The person who is actually smart about their computer usage you never hear from
The average person who uses a computer you hear from every day
The person who thinks they are smarter than the average computer user is a complete idiot, and completely screws up average person's computer.

95% of the time the problem with the computer is between the keyboard and the chair.

I don't even try to help these people. I like how I tell people I develop software and they immediately think I want to uninstall viruses from their computer.

The fun part is when you work for a company that holds on to an older software package like IE8 and just will not let it go. Thank goodness the place I work for is only 3 years behind in their standards.

The ERP system I manage is an IBM iSeries 400

More commonly known as an AS/400.

I would have nodded in approval if it were Windows XP, but 98...I guess it's not ME at least!

Yeah, I know. They will not change. I've tried over and over. Use some out dated outlook software for the company Email. It's more of a pain than anything. I do all my uswage with my phone which runs under chrome.
Hell man, out WiFi is just a high speed modem. When I ran a test on it last summer, it was in the 300 range for speed. My phone was over 2500.
