I have a buddy with a Ford F 150 truck and the v of the engine looks like this what could it possible be

Intake manifold gasket?

Check the intake itself around water passages. That plastic seems to "corrode" in a way. Kinda starts splitting and looking weird. Mine did at driver front passage. Used marine grade JB Weld to rebuild between passage and intake runner so gasket had place to seal to.

Also is that an intake with an all plastic water cross over in front or one with aluminum cross over? The all plastic ones can split open/crack over time.

This. I've replaced many 2v intakes with the plastic crossover in favor of the aluminum because the plastic was leaking. I'm not sure if the f150 intakes are the same, but if they are, i'd check there first.

I believe it is the new updated one with metal
