    Cheap 15x8 information

Got some weld wheels with 265 DRs on them from Cam. Turns out they only work up to 04's. They won't clear my brakes. I could either buy about 1 1/4" of spacer to make them work or get some wheels that would work natively and just mount the DRs on them.

Looking on summit it seems there are options that could work that aren't too expensive. Anyone got suggestions?

Well I know its the brakes for sure because when we went to snug them down and turn the wheel you could see a minor scrape where the caliper was hitting the wheel and it wouldn't tighten down fully. But I'll check that too when I get back to the storage place. Just happened to be thinking of this now that the track day is looking good.

For a 15x8 to work, you'll need a -5.25" backspacing and roughly 25 offset. You only need to relocate the Swaybar on wheels that are 15x9 and wider.

well after a quick search it seems I'm not getting away with less than about $175 a wheel, so 1.25" spacers it is and look dumb for the afternoon but at least I'll hook.

...won't you need longer wheel studs with spacers that big??

Or you could just buy wheels that fit. These are $188 but will fit without issue.

I have to admit...I think that spacers are a bad idea, especially on a car you plan on pushing hard at the drag strip or on a road course.

The spacers I was looking at have studs in them.

However, based on the feedback looks like I'm plunking down another 400 for wheels, give or take :(

Even so I'm just not liking the idea of spacers.

Not a bad idea, but my DR's still have plenty of life in them, and I have the AMR GT500 replicas in 19's already :) Its either get these cheap but pay for DR's or buy 15's and keep my DRs. I think financially I'll take less of a hit with 15" wheels and keep the DRs.

Dan - They're weld prostars 5 lug pattern. They bolted up to Cam's 04 Mach1 no issues. They are in remote storage so I'll have to make arrangements to get pics.

Nitto is releasing a 255/40/19 NT05 that will pair up well with that NT05R. It's on their website now.

can you do 305's on a 10" wheel? My 275's fill the width of a 10" wheel nicely... no sidewall bulge. I'd imagine for 305's its a 10.5" or 11" width, no?
