I'm ready......pulled my motor out this week!!
tell me about it. Z has 19s and I have found 3 options. I can run Mickey Thompson ET 2's in 305/30/19, Nitto 05R's in 305/35/19, or toyo R888's (track tire still sticky though) in 305/30/19.
I am thinking about getting a back up set of 19 rears for my Z and add radials to that since I DD my car they would be a waste of money lol
I have looked in to switching to something like a 18x12 rear setup but it's tough finding 18s that clear me rear brake calipers. there is a guy I know who just swapped his out for 350Z base brakes and is running 15" wheels and 28" MT DR's and has a set of slicks when he turns up the boost lol so traction is possible for the Z minus some rear camber and lots of rubber.
looks so funny seeing that much rubber on a Z lol

yep, I got the nt05r's, they are about $100 cheaper per tire than mickeys
I don't want to get involved with smaller rims and relocating brackets etc

I said the same. it'll be a pain to swap brakes just to gain a little bit on my ET on a car that's meant for corners lol
I just grew up at the drag strip so it feels like home for me.
only thing I don't like about the Nitto's is the aspect ratio of 35 on the 305s I would use would throw off the diameter setup for me F to R but if it's just for a few drag runs then swap it could work. hmmm

PJ - Wouldn't there be a lot of room brake-wise to go to a smaller diameter rim in the rear? It's the front brakes that you need the clearance for.
