    Some more little stuff

Safety third, installed a fire extinguisher mount that attached to the base of the seat

And installed my oil scavenge pump to attempt to alleviate my turbo smoke problem.
Spent forever trying to make a bracket and figure out where/how to mount it.

Doing racecar things in the garage of our new house.

Hiding behind my focus. That is actually our neighbors driveway lol.

Got my new turbo blanket on.

And finally got my ride height back to where it was. Ended up needing to get an alignment.

Haven't updated this in forever. Didn't do too much to it over the winter. Have been to a couple autocrosses with it.

Tim Rodeheaver built me a new rear end so that I can have some piece of mind about not destroying this one. Old one out

Going back in the car. It proceeded to fall off transmission jack and mess up my arm right after this picture.

    back in the car

And finally got around to fixing my rad cover. It wouldn't sit the whole way down because it was hitting the hood latch bracket. I ended up grinding some of it off and then hitting it with a quick coat of paint. Looks much better imo

I've also ordered new wheels. Forgestar M14, 2 piece heels in 18x9.5", 18x10.5". 8 week wait time unfortunately. Eff Forgestar

Should look awesome. I've never seen them done on a new edge.
I did silver face, polished lips, fronts are 2" lip, rears are 3" lip.

I'm hoping they don't take forever. I'm about 3-4 weeks in on a supposed 8 week wait time.
I've heard people saying it takes as long as 12-15 though.

Looking good. I had a set of piano black F14's on my C5Z, 18x9 and 19x10, great looking wheels, fit and finish is fantastic. I was told 7-8 weeks when I ordered mine, I had them in my hands in a little less then 7 weeks.

Definitely good looking wheels. They're also on the cheaper side for a better wheel. These we're about $600 a wheel for 2 piece wheels.
Ccw are about $1000 a wheel lol

Welp. Hurt something on the car.
    Smokes at idle, rev, driving.

    Smoke https://imgur.com/a/YgQCAJm

Compression test came back okay (120 on all cylinders). Seems low but that is what my harbor freight gave me when this motor was brand new.

Pulled the turbo and sending it to boost lab.
Not sure where to look after that. Definitely oil smoke. Valve seals is next I guess.

valve seals “typically” only bad on start up and a short time after.

A,title soft for turbo smoke but could be. Usually turbine seal will be thick smoke at idle because it’s not as burnt as if it went through the cylinders. Still very possible.

What did plugs look like when out? That much smoke should give a clue if it’s in the holes.

assume you did compression check cold, just looking for them to be uniform is about all that tells you. Would go up hot.

Compression test was relatively hot. Got car up to temp and then did. Had to let it cool off a bit first.
I actually think my crappy harbor freight gauge doesn't read above 120.
That was what the motor showed brand new out of the crate so should be good regardless.

Plugs looked pretty normal. Some black on the threads, some black/white on them. Just looks like carbon, no oil.

I'm sending the turbo to boost lab to get looked over and going from there.
Might end up taking it to East coast mustangs to get looked at

Good (better than the alternative?) News. Killed the turbo. Getting rebuilt, and we should be back in business.

Just popping in to say Eff Forgestar.

12 weeks out on my wheel order, was told they would be done the end of the next week on 6/21. That would mean done and shipped on 6/28 imo. It is now 7/10 and still no word on them being done.

In better news, got the turbo rebuilt and all is well there. No more smoke and car runs fine.

    534 is impressive!

I would get another tester to see if 120 is correct....seems pretty low!

No it is definitely my gauge. Harbor freight junk. It doesn't seem to hold pressure above 120
