PRP Opening Day - April 11th

Opening day is finally here. Saturday April 4th will be a Test N Tune at PRP! Gates open at 1pm, racing from 2-8pm.

Anyone else going? If so, would anybody be interested in meeting up and driving up together?

Weather is looking like it may be ok. Snow showers really early in the morning, but nothing after 9:00am. Temps in the 40s, could be some great DA, but then again with those temps, start line could be shit.

I was speaking for those who may be traction limited.

It seems like every time I go on opening day, someone nearly kills themselves within the first 10 passes.

    Lol.

My car doesn't make enough power to spin at the strip on 4 donut tires

Depends on how much rain comes down. Looking at a half to 3/4 inch by the time it's done. The ground, everywhere, is still spongy and damp early in the spring, so the rain may not have anywhere to go. It will have to move out before dawn, and the sun will need to be out to help dry things out. Cool, damp, and gray will work against opening. I'll be there for a bit if it open.

PRP is real good about updating their site and FB page, plus there is the free text alert service for rain outs. http://www.pittsburghracewaypark.com/text_alerts.php

weather for tomorrow just keeps improving. Now there's no snow chance, and any precipitation is supposed to be done by 5:00am. Sun should be out around 3pm as well, hopefully get some heat in the track.

Weather would have been great for today. I don't get them sometime--just make opening day later if you're going to cancel regardless of weather.

Yeah, this is a terrible day for drag racing (insert sarcasm here). This is one of the reasons I am glad I don't race anymore but situations like this would frustrate the hell out of me.
