I was talking to Matt last night about the opening day. pointed out the water seeping through the parking lot we were standing on. Honestly smart move on Greg's part to postpone. need some heat in ground to rid of the moisture from winter yet. not worth sending people down a green track. We really haven't had any warm weather yet, and barely above freezing days in last week or so. Hopefully we get some warm dry weather so we can finally enjoy the outdoors again.
I agree the ground was too wet yesterday.

Jeff knows.
All the snow melt and rain has just saturated the grounds. Like Jeff said, there hasn't been any decent stretch of warm days to burn that water off. The track itself is in great shape. It's the pits that were the problem. People would have brought up water, dirt, grass, etc, into the lanes, burnout box, and starting line. It would have made racing unsafe for everyone. Greg always says, he won't send his own kid down the track unless it's 100% safe, so why would he send anyone else's kid? I know we're all chomping at the bit to get out there after another long winter, but it was the right call. The good thing about this weekend and next weekend, if Saturday rains out, tnt will get rescheduled for Sunday. He couldn't do that this weekend, with Easter yesterday.
Subject updated to new date. What do you guys think about this Saturday? Probably going to be the same situation. Rained mostly throughout the week, but it's going to be beautiful on Saturday. Same situation as last week?
I'm heading to capital to test , come down

Then this Sunday mir is having a t@t with a pro prep done to the track
about 4-4.5 hours away depending on how fast you go on the turnpike
I got my car tuned right by there so we tested it there as well. track prep seemed good (that day at least) and I got my PB there. haven't been close to that time anywhere in PA so if you want to knock yours down a bit and have time it may be worth the drive.
if you want I can see if AAM has anything coming up testing GT-R's and give you some competition lol

The one good thing, so far this week, is that it hasn't been all rain, all day. So hopefully the good weather later Saturday into Sunday helped dry things out in advance of this week, and the forecasters are right, that rain ends early Friday. If it does, then I think this Saturday should be good. At worst, Sunday looks real nice, so either way, track will be open one of the days, if Mother Nature doesn't get her panties in a twist.
PRP just updated their site and FB page:
Happy opening weekend to everyone, WE ARE ON for opening day tomorrow, BUT, we have a slight change to the times. We are going to let the sun and daylight do some work for us and help dry out the pits. Gates will open at 3pm, with racing from 4pm to 10pm. We hope to see you there!
Not for me, but some guys ran really well yesterday. Palmer where you at?
Yep. Ran 11.08 @ 126.9 with back to back 1.6 60' times. It was a great start to the year for me.
