    Since the oil pump went bad, I would pull distributor cap off and wiggle the rotor to see if you have a lot of play. Maybe something is wrong on the bottom of the distributor. Another thing to try is pull the spout wire to see if it will settle the jumping around. Timing belt ok?

    No dizzy. It's a twin plug, twin coil pack truck.

    I replaced the oil pump b/c the pick up tube clogged and likely starved it. Just did both. Didn't do the timing belt though. The belt looks ok but some how the crank pulley is 20 degrees out.

    I kept jumping time on my turbo coupe because it didn't have a cover on the belt. I was getting rocks up in it or something

    Fixed.

    Lined up up all the timing marks, put belt back on and runs good. I'll stick a new belt on it but just wanted to make sure my diagnosis was right. The belt actually looked really good and the tensioner was fine.
