    Dang Ranger....

The 1990 acted up again today. Couple months ago it was an oil pump. Went to leave work, started it and it would not idle. Motor jumps around then shuts off. If I start it, instantly bring the RPMs up to 2500+ it will run just fine. Put a load on it and it dies. It's acting like it jumped time at low rpm. It fuel were a problem it wouldn't run at high rpm. I'm going to dig into it tomorrow night. Right now it's in the work parking lot and Cindy brought me home. Taking the trailer tomorrow.

Ok. Letz git cereal uh minit.

Did some investigating. There is fuel to the rail. Redneck method shows 30#. Timing light shows idle timing all over the place. Everywhere from 0 to 20 btdc. Bring the rpm's up to 2500+ it settled in to 25 degrees rock steady. Then a few minutes later the idle smoothed out but timing was 20 btdc.

Took on a drive down the road and at higher rpm it runs great. Let it drop below 2500 and it bucks and surges terrible.

    Thoughts?

Checked the timing marks. Crank on 20. Cam and oil pulleys on their marks.
