Never ceases to amaze me how people get bent the hell out of shape about people less fortunate than them trying to better themselves, yet no one gives a flying f*ck about CEO's trying to take more out of everyone's pocket. If you ever asked for a raise or thought you deserved more money then you're no better than these greedy burger flippers. You know some people's ceiling is working at Mcdonald's as a career, they were born stupid, they made a mistake and started a family in the 8th grade, whatever. They can't contribute any more to society other than taking your order for crap food. Without that job they'd likely turn to criminal activity to feed and house their families. Don't believe that, look at Detroit where all the industry moved out and jobs didn't get replaced, crime went through the roof. But we're better off than them, so they suck and should go f*ck themselves. My opinions, that weren't fed to me by some propaganda media giant, sorry if that's too harsh for most of you right wing murica nut draggers.

I believe in a free market system which has no maximum wage AND no minimum wage. The market will dictate what is correct.

I agree the family unit needs to stay together for a better chance at success for children. Also, I'm not saying most of the people deserve $15/hr to do the job they do, but something has to be done to get all these employees off of welfare. The majority of those workers are not college material, but at the same time don't want to be on welfare.

So, if I ask my boss for a 3% raise, it's the same as asking for DOUBLE my pay... which is what this is. incorrect!

95% of propaganda media giants are left wingers, so not sure where you're headed with that...

oh, and yeah Republicans ruined Detroit.

This is where I'm at. Bumping the minimum wage up some is due. No more than $8, $8.25 absolute tops. $15 is ridiculous, as these are supposed to be part time, entry level jobs, for students, for folks that want to pick up hours to help out their families, etc. A minimum wage job should not be a career. It should be a start to one.

Lol. Keeping up with inflation, it should be around $11. I'd give them that.

As more becomes automated, the wage gap is going to increase even more. Eventually there is going to be enough civil unrest that a universal minimum salary will be created. Think about what is going to happen in the future:

Autonomous vehicles will be smart enough to replace taxis, truck drivers, bus drivers, pilots, boat captains, etc..
Kiosks will replace cashiers as they get better.
Autonomous vehicles will start to replace private car ownership (why have cars sitting in parking lots when they can be used else where - Uber is going to be huge...). Bye Bye car dealerhips, maintenance garages (Except for the big companies that own them). Private cars will be more of a hobby at this point.
"Cloud computing" will destroy 90% of systems, database, and other computer admin jobs (there will still be jobs at the cloud companies though)
AI drones will allow cutting back human military forces, delivery (ups is already working on autonomous vehicles that deploy drones to deliver packages as they drive down the street).
nanotech will replace surgeons for a lot of common surgeries.
big data analytics will eventually be better at treating a patient than a doctor (look at the past 50 million results, base treatment on best outcomes)
3D printing will put a huge dent in factory jobs, and construction
Lab created meat (gross now, but that will change) will cut back farming even more
This is just the obvious stuff...

There will be jobs created to repair/build this stuff, but I feel like its a small percentage of what will be replaced. In the past, when a new tech came out, something related it to it popped up to supply employment, I don't know if thats going to happen anymore.

Exactly. We can't even get people to embrace electric vehicles, let alone robotic ones and the like. The lack of interest in higher technologies is overwhelming. Here and now and what can I get for free is all so many people care about.

I am not 100% sure how to take your post so I will just give you my thoughts. I am still trying to figure out how working in fast food justifies a salary increase of this scale. As for people with careers not being any better if they ask for a raise, I will just base this off of IT since that is where I come from. Our salaries are based on job performance. This means project roll outs, up time for the server infrastructure that support the company along with many other work loads. Now I will say that I didn't know what stress was until I got into this field. So many dead lines that are not based in the real world by people that sit behind desks and go to meetings all day. Managers that want updates 24/7 because they don't have an IT background and are clueless how long it takes to get projects done. Being on call 24/7 in the event that something goes belly up. With all that said we were locked into a set percentage for yearly salary increases because the stock market was in sad shape. We also lost more then a few perks over the years. The Christmas parties we have are no a joke and people don't go to them anymore.

I sure many are starting to think that if unskilled jobs are going to start paying $15 an hour then what the hell is the use of paying for Collage or advancing in anyway after high school.

If you want to fry your brain take a quick peak at what toys the armed forces have now that we know about and then think about what they don't share with us. They still want us to believe that the SR-71 is the fastest jet ever built. What a joke!

It will never end. Higher minimum wage = higher prices. It's not like Mcdonald's is just going to absorb the cost. In 6 months the $15.00 you are now making will be equivalent to the $8.00 you are making today. I agree with no minimum or maximum wage. Let the market dictate what you are worth. You just can't pay $15.00 an hour for $5.00 worth of work. Of course all this comes from the Capitalism crushing left. Big shock.

I started at $5.15/hr working at Wendy's in 2000... Man, if I was rolling $15/hr to screw off all day at work, I would have been living so hood rich out my mama house it's not even funny.

Instead, I was pissed that I made shit money, and used it as motivation to better myself and work hard to earn more money.

Once they get paid $15/hr, the workforce will be cut in half, it's just economics to keep the profits up. You think a fast food franchisee is going to give two shits about making sure everyone makes a decent wage when his profits get crushed by higher wages? I wouldn't, I'd be bringing in touch screens that burn $.45/hr in electricity and don't screw orders up, bye Felicia!

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump
