After that comes brake lines, booster, master cylinder, and who knows what else.

painting the undercarriage......for a true driver (9mos/yr) car....Ron you have OCD worse than me - just check the electricals and then rebuild the engine and drive it.

I can't handle surface rust John! Besides - the exhaust needs replaced as do the brake lines. So while I'm under there I figure I will spend the 1-2 days grinding off the rust and making her bottom purdy. Without a tranny or driveshaft in the way it is a pretty simple job.

Of course the engine bay will get some R&R while the motor is out as well.

    Sorry - I can't help it...

Sitting here enjoying a Twisted Tea, liking this car more every second I look at it. She has a little gloss now that I have used the HD Cut all over.

Thanks John. This past week included zero garage time. Ugh!

But tonight I tossed a battery in and saw what works and what doesn't. Headlights, brake lights, rear turn signals, wipers, and some interior lights work. Front parking lights aren't installed and it turns out the pieces I have are junk. Horn - nope. Rear parking lights don't work. The PO installed a rubber fuel line from back to front - that has to go. This car also has a return fuel line. It's rubber too. WTF? Rear wheel bearings seem great which surprised me since the car sat out for so long.

Tomorrow I plan on removing the rear brakes and shocks ( car has a quad shock setup a-la fox body Mustangs ) and painting the backing plates and cleaning up the wheel wells. Exhaust will come off and be saved in case I need a pattern. Muffler and resonators are toast. Turns out the car is undercoated nicely - probably a LONG time ago - so I think I will scrub it down and spray a fresh coat underneath. Bare metal items will get hit with the wire wheel and painted black. Maybe I will see how Lilly can do on the back seat with a can of upholstery cleaner.

LOTS of work to do. OCD is kicking in.
