Tom - that might be a bit TOO much pink. The world hasn't seen that much pink since Roseanne Barr's Penthouse shoot back in 1983...and that wasn't well-received...

Yes - still on jackstands - work has been killing me lately. I did talk to an Olds engine expert to get ideas and advice for the rebuild. Hopefully I get some time in the garage soon.

Today I finally had a little time to wrench on El Toro. It is time to pull the motor and get the rebuild going. The girls and I drained the oil and coolant, removed the fan shroud and radiator ( damn it is a HUGE rad ), and unbolted the power steering pump and A/C compressor. Everything on this car is heavy. Also started disconnecting and labeling lots of wiring. And damn - there are a LOT of vacuum lines on this baby. Looks like I will be buying a spool of hose.

Not it a ton of progress but hopefully the motor will be ready to pull tomorrow evening. If I could just find my engine stand...

Nope - today was full of non-car activities. Aviary - Spaghetti Warehouse, French bakery in Lawrenceville, bought mirrors for the master bath reno, laundry, and getting the house cleaned up for hosting Easter dinner. Ugh...

Here's an update for Sean. Not much fun being had except there is more room in the garage, as 13 doors, 500 feet of casing and 500 feet of baseboard have been painted and moved upstairs and are waiting to be installed, along with 1400 sq ft of hardwood flooring in boxes in the game room and living room. 41 boxes at 70 pounds each. Fun stuff.

Holy crap - update time - El Toro was stored at my Dad’s building for a few years while the ‘66 Mustang version 2.0 kicked into high gear. Those details are in that build thread. The Mustang is roadworthy again, and now Dad’s building is selling, so I no longer have a place to store El Toro or my trailer. So they both came home together...and the house garage is now pretty full...
