I'm not sure, and I guess we won't know from me since I'm changing muffler and adding a CAI ... I doubt either makes a huge difference but you can't exactly call it stock after those.

The ET is definitely 60' limited. Best passes was run it 4wd, but if you try to get up on the converter much at all it's slower. We didn't try either full manual shifting or the tow/haul mode on the A8 ... both should I f let it run happier in the upper RPM where these things seem happy. My buddy has a 6 speed without the 3,92's and locks his to 3rd gear for best results. Mine ran out of RPM in third so we locked it to 4th. If you don't do that it shifts faster up top and never uses all the gear.

Ron has a pile of passes on his, his is the higher gears, A6, and 17" wheel combo, plus a cat back and K&N filter ... Mine beat his best ever ET out of the box stock with my wife driving ... The A8 and 3.92's are a sweet package together.

I wish I had more time to play with it myself, but we are going to NMCA @ Norwalk the 28th-30th and wifey will race it there (after it toes mine there). Trying to get it on the 14-0 index for True Street for her.

Fwiw, I've had flowmaster non stainless mufflers on my car for years and theyre still fine.

You would need to see how this stuff mounts on the Ram. The muffler is sort of on its side on an angle so I can see where it would hold condensation and rust if you short tripped a lot.

I had them on my mustang too and they were fine, but like Bob said, Ram's really expose them to everything.


Plus I used to avoid driving my mustang in the winter, now if it snows I take the Ram out to play around with.

14.33 in a stock 4wd truck....I am impressed for sure. Could go 13's at sea level?

I get 17-20 mixed driving, and 16-17 pulling the Mustang on an open trailer. I do drive like an idiot all the time though.

What I can say ... The truck has always been a little disappointing in how quiet it is when you romp on it. That's why I've wanted some kind of an exhaust, just so it made some noise. With just that CAI on it, it's quiet as it ever was idle and cruising, but romp on it and you can hear it. Pretty nice just for that, make it sound like it's making some power, lol. So it "feels" faster, lol.

Planning to to get the muffler on it and have it back at street car night Saturday

Just "Because", we decided to mess around and start Tom's truck up with the factory exhaust system removed. It sounded pretty badass honestly. Loud, but badass.

I am sure it would be totally obnoxious driving like that though, having it dump right under the cab.

got the muffler installed, very happy for what I wanted. Makes a little more noise at idle, quiet when cruising, makes a little noise when you are on it ... Not too loud, just right for me ...

Quick for a stock truck Bob. I need to take mine for a pass or two just to see what it can do. I was at PRP during the day with car and it was fast all day in the sun.
