The GT is ahead of the cj until about 5,600 rpm. After that it's cj.

From the one vid you posted it looked as though excluding the launch the engine gets down to around 4,000 rpm.
Yes, and I short shifted a couple times, but the highest I ever shift the car is 6800. At the last hillclimb I was going through the finish at 7600 in 4th (3.31s) on the limiter for a while, wasn't sure if it would pull 5th with a last second shift. I think the car would go faster with a Boss or CJ as much time as I could spend from 5000-7600 or so. CJ is some serious coin over the Boss, most dyno tests I see don't show a significant difference between the two.

If you want power on the 15s, definitely give Tim a call. He's doing good things with all of the 15s I've seen go through his shop. Not only does he get you the power by giving your car the tune it wants, he makes sure you can drive it everyday without eny issues.

Thanks for all the input guys. I have taken cars to Tim before. Never for tuning, but yes I would trust him 100%. This is not a thread about where to tune my car or whose mail-order tune to purchase... I am simply curious if anybody local has done some minor bolt-ons on a 2015+ Mustang and what kind of power they've netted.

    Thanks!

I saw a 2015 mustang get a GTR interior swap and gained 150hp at the dash.

I've never done a tune and Cai/tune comparison on a 15 yet. I'm sure the Cai U.S. Worth hp. I just can't say how much. It makes sense to have one in comparison to the stock air box. I've seen and tested that the drop in filters for the 15s HURT hp. Headers on the other hand net a nice gain.

OK, so you guys have seen the other posts. I bought this car with Airaid CAI and Gibson catback already installed. Where do we go from here? haha No future mods planned right now!

I'm thinking I just drive it and enjoy it the way it is... but, I'll eventually go crazy and probably have Tim tune it. I'm just not sure what to expect from a tune. 10-20hp reasonable? And, no offense to Tim (or any other tuners / garages) but I don't think 10-20hp is worth the price of the tuner and a couple hours dyno time.

This thing idles fine and has no weird surging or anything at any RPMs.

what you gain from a tune in these new cars is a way to turn off all the nannys they have multiple stages of traction control the 20 hp gain is like a half second at the track, which works out to much more , drive by wire cars can close throttle with out you knowing .....

lol, you are becoming the expert on that ....

after watching Joe, I'm certain getting the nannies out of the way is WELL worth the cost of the tune. His is almost useless with those doing what they do.

FWIW, and mod that doesn't need a tune (aifraid CAI) isn't adding power.

After taking an extended ride tonight, I can see what you guys are talking about. There's a slight disconnect from what my right foot is doing and what the car is doing.

On the 11-14 the throttle blade will momentarily close, even during no lift shifts. When the computer detects an abrupt load change e.g., powershift, it will close the throttle in an attempt to manage torque application. Early 11's had less management but as failures were recognized more management was integrated into the tune.

Drive by wire = keeps warranty costs down

And that's it....even on my buddies new F250 you can feel if he nails it from a stop, the truck will take off, slow down as the throttle blade closes partially (about 20' out) to manage the torque, and then picks back up again like "Oh, I didn't realize when you saw you needed to merge, you actually wanted to at WOT".

So for sure a tune would help to eliminate the rather large disconnect you are feeling and real world gains (in driveability and performance) are more than just the hp number.
