    15 get or 2011 gt500???

So my brother in law moved to Virginia and wants a mustang since they get little snow. He likes both but not sure what the better car is. It's 95 percent going to be street driven but manby to the track to see what it can do. My opinion is a 15 GT and a super charger and that's about the same he would spend on a gt500. I told him I would post this for opinions.

I tossed up the same exact options, and went with the 15. Planning on a s/c next year.

I've been thinking the same thing lately. I do love the 2010+ Shelby body style. Even the 5.4 makes crazy power with the right supercharger. The 2015 GT has incredible potential and also looks great. Tough choice. Probably a good thing I'm not ready to spend the cash yet. I'm excited to see what the GT350 has to offer. The earlier Shelby still has a lot in it if you like the body style, and would save around $10K.
If I were ready to buy this second I'd probably go with a 2010-2012 Shelby with a larger supercharger.

I've been considering similar cars myself. I still don't know what I want to do either. There have been some very tempting deals on SVTP like the one that Mark posted. I haven't seen many good deals on 15's yet. I'm thinking there will be some nice ones that pop up over the winter as guys get bored with them. The one thing that worries me on a new GT is depreciation. I'd like to think I'd keep it for 5-10 years, but I get bored quickly. Hard to predict the future, but it's almost certain that the Shelby would depreciate less over the same amount of time.

I'd say get a '15 and go straight to Tim's for power upgrades and ask Mark A for handling tips.

They have a one time a year luxuary tax but its not that bad. That gt500 is sick I will show him that!! I thought the same thing about the new gt slap a SC on it and you could be faster than a gt 500 and its band new! Its a hard decision to make both look good!

You can buy a 2015 GT with a blower on it like I did at what I thought was a reasonable price with a warranty.

I would compromise. I would do a 13 or 14 GT with a hellion or equivalent twin turbo kit and pocket the money you save for building the motor when it pops

I think he is leaning toward the 15 in an auto. First over the winter will be some suspension mods.Than spring time headers and exhaust and a super charger. He likes that the GT is new and not someone's car he knows nothing about. I like the looks of the 15. Thanks for the opinions tho. I think Tims 15 helped with his decision!!!!!!

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump
