New guy from Imperial PA

Hi everyone. My name's Matt, I'm a car enthusiast of all makes and models. I don't necessarily have your average "muscle car" but it holds its own. If anyone saw it, I was driving the black and blue neon at the track rental on Sunday. I'm glad I was able to attend and my kids had a blast watching all the cars. I try to get to the track every chance I get, it was perfect weather and that little neon even set a new world record yesterday. Thanks for the add and thank you for the great event.

Welcome. What happened to the Neon? I saw it pushed off the track and then it sat the rest of the day.

I broke an axle my first pass, switched to my spare, got one run, broke the spare on my third pass, then disconnected the trailer and drove to monroeville to pick up an extra, got it swapped back out and made 4 more passes. Very crazy day for me, I was ready to load it up but couldn't settle for one run. Even though that one run already set the world record, it was nice to have 4 more to back it up.

It's not often you see a Neon being towed by a Sorento.

My brother had a gang (group, herd, gaggle, ??) of Neons at one point. They were just DD's that he used as parts cars to keep one going. The best one he had was a bare bones four door, stick shift, no PS, no A/C, crank windows, base, base model. We called it the rally edition. Sucker would catch tire in three gears. Was a hoot to drive and he pounded the snot out of that car.

My best of the day was 11.02@128.79 Previous record was 11.07@121. Previous mph record was 123.49 so I actually grabbed two records. Those records are for the stock untouched turbo. Mine is also stock internals with 161k miles. I usually drive the car to the track but I added some gutted doors and kirkey seat and wasn't about to drive an hour like that lol.
