    Project Ginger 2016@Rodeheavers Hotrod shop

Ginger is getting a new power plant for 2016. The old engine was built in 2010 and had 5 race season and between 600-700 passes on it. The old setup was a 347 with 10.4:1 CR, trick flow TW heads port by fox lake stage 2, Anderson n91 cam 1 5/8 stepped to 1 3/4 headers and a victor 5.0 efi intake. Combo made 412hp to the wheel and ran a best of 10.64@123 but but averaged 10.80s@121 on pump gas. The car weighs 3010 without the driver.

New combo will be a 363 with 11.3:1 CR, trick flow 205 11r heads, custom bullet cam, trick flow r carb intake, 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 or straight 1 7/8 headers and 3" exhaust.

Anyone wanna guess on wheel up or ET?

    C4 with a 5100 FTI converter, 28x10 tire and a 4.30 gear. 4.56 would probably work better.

I wish you guys were right but I'm thinking 10.40s hopefully making about 475hp to the wheels. That's my goal.

How hard did you turn the old combo and what do you expect the powerband to be with the new motor?

Seems like a small expected increase in power considering all the changes.

I'd guess 500 to the wheels and low 10's at almost 130?

Paxton your guess is what I'm really hoping for but I keep my expectations low so I'm not disappointed. I'm really hoping for 10.20s at near 130 probably about 128. If I can't get the 60ft to be around 1.40 my goal should be close. The old setup was shifted at 6700rpm I'm hoping this will be 7000

Not without removing things that keep it somewhat of a street car

Gotcha. Yeah takes away the cool factor when you cross that line. Car should run hard. Can't wait to see how it does.

    I don't think I will hit 500+ in thinking 475 for 10.40s.

I told Barry and Matt Wednesday night your "10.40s goal" was complete BS.

    If you hook, 10.20s easily.

I think you are going to be pleasantly surprised if they hit the converter at you 5000+.

FTI Will hit the recommendation no problem, they are my go to for torque converters. My only real question is why not more compression? I don't know one darn thing about Ford's so my guess is meaningless, what do those heads flow? and what are you thinking for cam?

The reason for the compression I choose is because I don't want a dome piston and I don't want to get into cutting the heads and then having to work the intake also. The heads come with a 56cc chamber and with a flat top piston with a 4.155 gasket and a .040 compressed thickness that just happens to be what it is. I would like to have 12:1 but I'll live. I have to keep the torque down anyway because of traction.

Im not sure on the cam yet but I'm not too worried about that. I have to figure out the rest of the combo and the I'll get a cam to fit it.

I currently have a FTI 5200 8inch. I hope it will be enough for a 7200 rpm shift.

My goal is set at 10.40s which is the slowest I would be happy with. If it goes 10.40s@128+ I would be happy. If it goes quicker that is just bonus. I don't like to set the bar to high and then be disappointed.
