New Car Itch

The snow should be here soon, so what better time to start thinking about a replacement for the daily driver '10 Mustang? I made the mistake of grabbing a '16 Mustang brochure at C. Harper and also stopping by the Chevy showroom. They have a manual 2SS on the way, so the salesgirl is going to give me a call when it gets there.

I thought I was pretty sure about the Mustang, but the Camaro is growing on me, especially the LT1 with the dual mode exhaust.

I should probably wait until spring or longer since I need to buy over 1000 square feet of Ipe decking, but hell, it doesn't hurt to look!

Not a huge Camaro fan, but the '16 practically curb stomps a new GT in most if not every performance category. If that helps...

That's the main thing making me look at the Camaro (although there's always the supercharger option!). Need to drive the Camaro to see how I feel about those little slits they call windows.

There's something tempting about having two versions of an LT1 in garage bays 1 and 3.

C. Harper got their black 2SS in today. Took it for a drive and really like it. Great engine, sounds fantastic. Clutch feels really different, and lighter than the Mustang, as evidenced by my jerky 1st gear start.

I wasn't really interested in a black car or a red interior, so they worked up the price for an order (even though I already knew the price). They're going to order it, even though I made it clear that I didn't even know what car I really wanted. Going to order it anyway. Well, at least I know where to look in 6-8 weeks for the exact Camaro that I would build! I guess my choices were good enough that they were willing to use up one of their allocations, although I'm sure Harper's can get plenty.
