    Remanufactured Terminator Motors

found out about this program a while ago from a buddy. recently a customer dropped off his car and one of these motors for the install. i snapped some pics for anyone interested or curious.

cost is $4k if you have an 03/04 cobra core. core can be in any condition but has to be equipped the same as the remanufactured motor. motor comes with a 1 year warranty and even has oil in it! ford drops off the new motor and picks up the core...even at different times.

as everyone already knows, these motors are strong and impressive from the factory, this is a very nice option for someone who doesn't want or need a hardcore mod motor built. here are some pics...

Hate to say this... But.... Those engines are rebuilt by an OUTSIDE manufacturer. Ive gone thru the FORD Reman motor process/ordeals. Ford Does not make any of their reman motors. A 3rd party company does it all.

The motors arent as strong as stock, and are NOT built the same, and are usually bored out .030 over.

Its great being able to get Reman motors, but your better off spending the cash on building a motor. Considering I've wasted two Reman Longblocks from Ford.

sorry to here about your experiences. i only know of a couple of these particular motors that are in cars now, all is well with those. $4k cant touch a properly built & assembled 4v by a reputable engine builder when it's all said and done. not everybody wants or needs that which is why this is a good option and why i started this thread.

$6k without a core...the core charge is $2k. i wouldn't pay $6k for this motor but if i didn't have a core i would dig up a junk termy long block for cheap to use as the core

You are very right. Its all in what you want, and what you have to spend it on!

    just a little update...

everything has been great to date with the exchange motor! with a couple thousand miles on a conservative tune, i loaded the customers car up in the box trailer earlier this week and took it out to lund racing for some dyno/road tuning. she made 380+ rwhp & 370+ rwtq on a Mustang Dyno with a pump gas tune!!! those are some pretty stout numbers for a damn near stock terminator!!! only mods are a off road h and a filter

for anyone that might consider going this route i definitely recommend it, so far so good!
