Boss vs 2015 gt vs challanger rt

Wanted to get some opinions on a couple of cars that some of you owne and have drove. I am looking to get into possibly a 2012 Boss mustang or a 2015 mustang gt. I also am considering a 2015 challanger rt. This will be a DD and I do have a 7 year old so some room in the back seats would be nice. No track time just want a fun muscle car to drive and experience with my son. All are around the same price that I am looking at. The challanger has better options tho, heated seats, moonroof, heated steering wheel and a big trunk! Let me know your opinions please.

foxbody hatch and put the 30k balance into his college fund.

    Ok...you didn't ask for financial advice. :)

Good question though - another new user here traded his B2 in on a 15 and said the 15 was an upgrade in alot of ways.

The boss doesn't have a backseat I believe.

Fwiw the 2015 cars are really nice inside.

Challenger looks good, never driven one but I've heard the blind spots are bad

Boss has a back seat unless you get the Laguna Seca.

In a few years your son can sit up front and the small back seat won't matter.

    I like John's advice.

Would this car be a fair weather DD or year-round DD?

Not sure how different the '15 drives on a daily basis from a '14 ( or interior room-wise ), but I absolutely love driving my '14. I looked at Challengers and new '15 Mustangs when I bought mine. There were options / advantages / disadvantages to all of them. At one point or another, I've had all generation Mustangs from fox and up. I still have a fox notchback, but I can only drive one at a time, and I find myself choosing to drive the '14 over the notch more times than not. The newer platform is a night and day difference from a fox. I think you'll be very happy with daily driving newer. It's still a personal preference to me that I like the look of the fox body better, but the drive and performance of the newer platform more than makes up for any short comings of the look.

I can get a 13 gt a lot cheaper than a boss or 15 but I would be mod it with so much. The boss I would leave alone not too much to do to that! The 15 new wheels and lowered. The challenger lowered and exhaust. It's tough cause the boss is in another state and so is the challenger. If I could find a 13 or 14 already modded with what I want I would do that. I have been looking sines October when I got a new winter car so I hope to find one by spring!!

The '14 I picked up certified pre-owned and was one of those deals it was just to good to walk away from. The only advantage that was pushing me towards the '15 was being able to get competition orange as a color and the independent rear. So far all I've done with the '14 is exhaust and planning on a tune by spring. In the fall when I bought it before the exhaust on street tires and bone stock, my '14 ran faster than my '08 supercharged Roush with drag radials did so I was pleasantly surprised at the bone stock performance.

The only thing that had me considering going with the Challenger ( it sounds ridiculous to even say this out load ) was the moonroof. After driving it and the Mustang, I was still leaning towards the Mustang but as I said, when I came across the deal I did, I couldn't pass it up.

I absolutely love my '14. For me it is the perfect mix of "nice new car" and "performance car", especially stock. I think I actually enjoyed driving the car on the street more in stock form than it's current state, from the showroom the car is just has the right mix of grip and power. Car rides great, handles far better than anyone gives the cars credit for (Brembo cars and Boss), and has just enough power to entertain without feeling like you are putting everyone's lives in danger anytime you go beyond 1/2 throttle. Ford has somehow inserted the feeling you got the first time you jumped in a 5.0 back in the 80s/90s and giggled like a schoolgirl for an hour and a half after you put the car sideways on a good 1st to 2nd powershift.

The Boss IMO don't have enough extra to make it worthy of costing 15k more on the market, that being said I wish I would've bought one instead of my GT, the values for the '11-'14 GTs are in the toilet.

My dad has a Challenger RT. Nice car, but just feels way too big and heavy. Depends on what you like. He absolutely loves his.

Having test drove a 15 base model to gauge the suspension and owning a 13 GT, of the 3 cars you listed my vote is the 15GT.

90% of people who buy a sports car and say "i'm not going to mod it" wind up modding it and the internals of the motor and the incremental improvement in the suspension are enough that you would have a great platform to build on.

All are good choices. I would buy a '13-'14 premium GT ( Track Pack is a bonus or at least Brembos - they are great ) with a glass roof and you will never think sunroof again. Like Mark said the stock power is great and it is easy to get 40-60 hp with easy mods. Mark's car absolutely screams for a NA car. Nothing against a '15 - they just cost a lot more. Like Mark said the values of '11-'14s are down a bit, so you get more bang for your buck. I rented a '15 V6 auto and it was very nice other than the stock cloth seats, but it was actually stiff compared to my stock '14 GT TP, which has a really nice stock ride. I will be upgrading my shocks / springs / struts at some point but most people would leave them stock. Good luck shopping!

I have a 2015 Challenger Rt Scat Pack and really like it. Yes it is big and heavy car but it still runs great and plenty fast for a stock 4300lbs car. Alot of room I put both my kids in the back and plenty of trunk room. I ordered mine from Bob Fredrick in Ohio and got mine OTD for $41k last yr.

It will not handle as good as the Mustangs or Camaro's so don't expect that. if you do it get the 6.4L in it.

I like the exclusivity of the Boss over the other two. If I had the funds I would own one. Before my son was born ( pretty much gave up on conceiving because of issues on both sides) , my plan was to pay off my Mach 1, sell it and find me a Boss.
