It looks like they do great work. Might go there to get some chips fixed on my car

I called around to get prices for my fiero before and was shocked by how much it costs to paint a car anymore, one place wanted $10k + 3 months. Thats why I went the plastidip route, I'm considering just buying the stuff I need to paint it myself.

3000 to 4000 wont get you much
I had close to 1500 into materials
I dropped off a rust free truck, no major damage, fresh out of boxes front clip and was 6000 in labor for all work i had done
Now if you want a quick in and out with cheap materials then yea 3000 to 4000 maybe possible
10k for a quailty paint job isnt out of norm, for a beater i wouldnt pay 10k but for something nice
Shops dont make money on overalls they make money on collisions
Premier Detailing. My paint is not in bad enough shape to need a bunch of panels resprayed/blended, otherwise I would have Ryan do them. Just need chips filled and my paint repair game is not up to snuff as I have already sanded through (probably already thin) clear on my car.

Update.
So I got some rough ballpark figures from a couple places.
Decided I'm going to have Ryan at Hoffman do it.
Everyone says he is legit, and no one else came even close to what he told me as far as pricing estimate.
Thanks guys.

what all are you getting done?

Cowl hood prepped and painted, front bumper cover resprayed.
I will say GIS told me $1600. The collision shoppe told me $1100-1200.
Ryan was considerably less than both.
I have a spot on my rear bumper that needs fixed as well but I figure he would need to see that in person.

Agreed. I had ~$1k in materials for my GTO (8 years ago) and it was a basic scuff/respray over the paint that was on it. If you want show quality on something that needs rust repair/accident damage/color change/needs stripped $8-$10k is about the going rate with top quality products/work.
Complete paint jobs are big $$ these days. A buddy just had his Mopar painted and there was almost $2k in materials. It was a silver blue color to boot. You start getting into reds and pearls it gets real expensive.

Pro Comp in Shaler, across the street from GIS does fantastic work.
Direct Auto in Etna is pretty good also.

That was my thought as well, lol.
I figured reasonable would be like $500-600 for the hood and 2-$300 to refinish the front bumper cover depending on what kind of prep it needs.
Although I do think some people might be high on the quotes for painting the hood, as they probably get a lot of shitty quality fiberglass hoods that suck to prep. The cervini one I bought looks like it shouldn't need much prep. Couple minor chips in the gel coat but not a big deal
I had one local guy I know tell me that the hood wouldn't match the rest of the car if he painted it.... my inner thoughts said "well I guess you don't know how to paint then" lol

Silver doesnt match well with the flop it has..this is why most shops paint a hood then blend into fenders and bumper
