    MT S/S or Street R

Looking to pick up some 305/40/18 MT's. Looking between the ET S/S and the street R. Where is everyone getting theirs from think best price I found on the S/S is $360 each. Also not going to be driving on them except to/from the track (42 mile each way) would the R's be beter choice?

    Thanks

Not that either one would be good to be caught in the rain in, but the Street R would really be bad. Other than that, it's a question of how much/how little actual tread pattern you're comfortable with.

If you're on Moparts, some times people have Summit discount codes that they can't use, and pass along.

I just posted the same scenario in different sizes a few weeks back for a '14 Mustang. I ended up going with the R. It really came down for me to what the primary reason for the tires was going to be. I had a set of wheels that I was going to be putting these tires on specifically for the track. Knowing that, it seemed like the R was more of a drag tire that could be driven on the street ( I could be remembering wrong but I think MT's site even describes the R as such ). The S/S seemed like more of a street tire that will give you a bit more traction when on the track than your typical street tire.

Thanks I got a set of dedicated drag wheel I just bought. So I might check into the R's what size did you go and where did you order from?

I was looking for a different size than what you're considering but I went with 295/55/15. I really wanted 275/60/15 but at the time I ordered ( my Summit coupon was about to expire ), Summit said MT no longer made the R is 275/60/15. Jegs still had that size listed but Summit did not. I went with the 295/55 because it was as close to the size that I could get in the R from Summit. Looking at Summit's site today, they don't even list the R in 295/55 so maybe I ended up with some leftovers they had from last year ?
