Back in the days when I was young I played with Chevys

When I was in my late teens, I had a 1971 Monte Carlo. This was my first attempt and working on cars. At the time, it was real inexpensive to play with cars. I picked up my then 7 year old clean 1971 Monte Carlo for $1300. Parts were cheap and so was the gas! The motivation was a magazine called Popular Hot Rodding. They took a 1970 Monte Carlo and did "Project Econo Performer". I was digging through my old mags and came across Popular Hot Rodding and Econo Performer series. I did a search on the internet and found out the car in the article still existed. Check out the link!

I would have rocked that when I was a teenager. Almost had a 71 Torino as my first "hotrod". Ended up with my 85 GT instead

Thanks Ron. It was a nice driver in the day. Not real fast but it had Crager SS on here and dual exhaust with Cherrybomb mufflers lol! CArb I put on one of the old 500CFM 2BBL Holleys. MT Valve covers, chrome air cleaner and yellow spark plug wires. I was cruizin lol!

Making the pic even cooler is the 4 door Matador, Cutlass, and I think Buick Century/Regal (driveway across the street) in the background.
