Man I really need to get away from black daily's....for sure a hassle to keep clean. I just couldn't pass up this car considering it was 100% stone stock, grandpa owned, still wearing it's original tires at 50% tread and 10 yrs old....LOL

And I do like the red seats.

Looks good John! Do you plan on driving it in the winter? Been considering a mustang for a daily myself. My G8 went fine in the snow with proper snow tires. I'm thinking a mustang probably would as well, especially with some weight in the trunk.

Of course it will see straight salt action on 4 blizzaks....(well Yokohama's in this case)...I kept the snow tires from my extra V wheels for this very purpose. I will run the OEM wheels and IceGaurd's with about 120lbs of sand in the spare tire well. This has been working well for me for the last 5 yrs or so.

This past winter I was coming home from work with a couple fresh inches on the ground and the V walked sideways at 20mph up a 1/2 mile long hill passing stuck front wheel drive cars in the right lane. They were probably like WTF just happened? LOL

Last time I daily'd a mustang was probably 13 years ago. I was too dumb/poor to run snow tires back then. They really do make a huge difference.

To me the cam failed first and then brgs suffered resulting in low oil pressure only further agitating the cam issue.


It woudl be interesting to see if the rod brgs were pounded down from detonation but after pulling the mains he just set everything aside and has been cleaning/degreasing the entire underside of the car....really cleaned up like new...headers, exhaust, wire looms, nuts, bolts...like OCD style. It looks great.



In other news here is a pic of the FRPP axlebacks i put on yesterday. I spent way too much money for a little sound....I need to put myself on a better budget. :)

I would think a CAI has to be on the mod list ... cant have a Mustang without a CAI and a tune.

I have been quietly shopping the 3V cars as Vert's for wifey. Seems the prices have hit bottom on them and there is some value out there (if you are happy with a 3V car). also still some stupid prices, lol.

You got it Bob....3v is pretty good bang for the buck right now...still not as cheap as a low-mile SN95 car but not sure I can go back that far at this point. I usually buy DD's at 10+yrs old and mostly depreciated.

I am happy to report to you as of this morning that even with the addition of 19" wheels and 285mm 320 treadwear rubber in the back, the fuel mileage is staying a steady 21.2-21.3 mpg on my daily commute.
