    351w carburetor

    So I just got a killer deal on a 750 double pumper for $125.00. My question is I just ordered the Big Mutha Thumpr comp cam kit for my 351w. Is this carb going to be too much for this set up that it will not run correctly or just cool to use until I do end up with more upgrades. Thank you in advance.

    Yep - I agree you'll have to jet it down. Nice buy though!!

    You'll be fine. You might need to tune it a little, jets, squirters/nozzles, air bleeds, but it should be good. Which cam, I saw 6 for the 351 on Comp's site? What carb, and how fresh is it? If it was not on a running car in late 2015, if it was me, here is what I would do to freshen it up:

    * Replace pump diaphragms
    * Replace floats
    * Clean out the bowls while floats are out (using carb cleaner)
    * Clean out needle and seat (using carb cleaner)
    * Blow out air bleeds (using carb cleaner)
    * Check what jets are in it
    * Check what nozzles/squirters are in it

    Better to do that up front and have a good running carb, rather than chasing it after it's on. Gas sitting in the bowls can chew up the floats (causing a hole, float won't rise), and diaphragms (they'll leak on the the intake), gum up the needle and seat and air bleeds.

    This kit has a good bit of what you'd need: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hly-37-485/overview/

    Think it is a 4010 series. I know nothing about them. Not your standard "Holley double pumper".

    You should be able to find what model that is. My car isn't home but that looks nothing like my double pumper.

    Wow that is an old carb. That is a 4010 series with mechanical secondaries. Holley hasn't made them in a long time. Think they came out in early 90's. Had one that was 600cfm. Jets are in bottom floor of fuel bowls. Two piece carb sort of like an Edelbrock. Never really had issues with it from what I can remember.

    Ok, that makes sense. I couldn't come up with anything on Holley's site on the part number 12r-10552b. Summit's brought up rebuild kits only.

    Chargin - you may want to consider spending $1.90 on this :)
