You could probably tear down and reassemble that thing in the dark.

For what it's worth, we found this bearing in the 2.92 box on 3rd gear. I haven't found anyone yet that has seen one fail like this

We built a cradle so I can carry the spare to the long races. My buddy thought it needed a reminder ....

And if you are looking for a sound investment, lol into the guys (syngyn) that make the G Force fluid ... At $20 a quart, you need 2 plus Mobil 1 ... And every time you drag one, you get to throw $50 more dollars away because of the crap in it ....

It is however rather nice to have a friend with a stacker when you need to swap one at the track :)

And I'll let you figure out how many $$$'s are there :(

not that it does me any good, but the 2.92 box was in a car for several championships. Most of the class guys (except coyote stock) are leaning more to the TKO stuff, and deffinately the GF101A where that's allowed. The buy in on the GF101A starts at $6500

One last reference ... These are like unicorns. Everyone hears about the bronze shift forks, but no one really sees them and you can't buy them any more. Both of my transmissions now have them ....

Wow so you think the needle bearing failed first? That's some nasty carnage.

Rob has always been my go to guy, but was complaint I was putting him out of business ... Big difference in these, no synchronizers or keys and a
l that crap. The dog ring stuff slides together pretty easy, adjust the preload and end play, then close it up

it was full of fluid, not a single mark on the main shaft or inside the gear ... A bunch of the needles just like vaporized. Will never know if it was the bearing first or it was an after effect of breaking the gear. I SUSPECT at hat bearing failed, but who knows
