Wow. Makes me want to run out and buy some Forgestars. I wonder how many people decided against buying a set of Forgestars after watching this video.

Well, every company has quality issues from time to time, but a premium wheel company like Forgestar should be held to a higher standard than a lesser manufacturer.

With that being said, id be pissed off if my 500 dollar set of wheels fell apart, let alone my 1500-2000 dollar set.

I had one of my bogart skinnies split in half on my mach 1. Thankfully I was only going about 5mph when it happened. They said they had some weld wire quality issues and it wasn't an isolated incident. My last set of bogarts. I realize theres a failure rate with everything, but hard to sleep at night when it happens to you. I was going 120+ about 5 minutes before it happened.

Not sure I want to run big and littles on the track after that statement.

On the street, I generally keep it under 100. On the track, i'm seeing how fast I can get there (and beyond).

Big'n'little's on an AWD would be a little odd.

They went into this a bit deeper on S197forum. The guy was only getting like 5 thread engagement on the lugs, and it said that he actually drilled the lug holes out "slightly" to allow gorilla extended lugs to work. The stupidity of those two suggests that maybe something else contributed to the failure, especially since the three others were cracked as well.

This makes more sense to me.

Who in the hell DRILLS their wheels instead of buying extended lug nuts if you have shallow lug nut thread engagement.

They also don't powder coat anymore.

They are all painted due to high temp baking.

Maybe the rear wheels only get a limited amount of the power? Not sure how those "primarily FWD" cars work on the AWD models.

Depends on the car really. In stock form, my car is basically FWD when just tooling around, and there's a limited slip viscous coupler in the transmission that is attached to the output shaft to the transfer case, that when enough pressure is applied, the fluid becomes thicker, driving more power to the rear wheels. The most that it can provide is a 50/50 split to front/rear when under heavy throttle conditions.

If your a nut-job like myself, you weld the center differential in the trans, which effectively locks it in that 50/50 split 100% of the time. This keeps the driveline from a potentially nasty loading/unloading cycle when the tires break loose, which is super bad and destroys the center differential with shock loading.

The downfall of this is in tight parking lot situations. It acts similar to a 4x4 truck, and you can bind the driveline when turning tight, causing the inside rear tire to "Skip".

I've effectively eliminated 95% of all the NVH equipment in this car already, and it vibrates like a dildo hooked to a 750CCA die hard, so whats one more little thing?

Hopefully the automagic swap will calm down a little of the drivetrain harmonics, but if not, meh. It's not like its my DD.

Not on my DSM. I have a 96 mustang GT too. My wife drives it, because it's too slow to get her in that much trouble.
