    A little weight reduction

My Capri, as raced with a full tank of fuel was 3135# ... I've been racing with a little under 1/2 tank so it's been right at 3100# as raced. After fragging a few gears in transmissions, I decided to get the car to 3000# as raced, so I went looking for 100# (while still keeping interior, heater, and stereo ....

i have gone at most things so there wasn't a lot of low hanging fruit ....

first st thing was I pulled out my old rear seat delete that was all 3/8" OSB carpeted, and went to one that is 1/4" luan and a carpet tail for the back. When I had it out, the rear seat belts was still there .... Took all that out, plus swapped my rear bumper support for a Donathan's tube .... Ended up with 40# out of it with different rear seat delete, rear seat belts, tube rear bumper, and a bunch of little stuff inside (still had a factory amp in dash) ....

Next thing I went after was the doors .... I always run with my door bars now, so it was time to take on removing the damn door beams ... Cut out both door beams, and changed to Scott Rod door panels ... Total was 35# total from both doors ....

And finally went after front brakes. Got a used set of Wilwoods. It's always claimed to be 30-35# savings ... Well, those claims must be non vented rotors or else my stuff was light, lol,.... Total for both side was 26#

Everything weight wise was on a bathroom scale and rounded down ... There was a # here or there not included, and in the end the over all car weight is all that matters so I'll get it in scales at the next race that has them. Pretty sure I found my 109# anyway

Aluminum rear bumper? Nice savings nonetheless.

That was the whole point, if it's any quicker I can take boost out ... I think the CS guys say a decent gain in trans life when they dropped them to 3000#, that's why I aimed for 3000#

They have become one of my new favorite parts for sure. Factory door panels aren't that heavy, but my wife smasher her hand several times between the door bar and the arm rest ... I have also pulled my arm rest off a couple of times flinging the door closed so I didn't catch my hand. The pull straps I put on are mounted high enough to prevent all that. Armrests was useless and the door panels looked like crap without them.

I need to get working on the driver too for sure. It's getting a lot harder to find weight in the car unless I start taking street stuff out (headliner, heater, stereo, etc.). The way my seat is set up, it's pretty hard to put someone else in my seat, it way back, real low, and bolted in a fixed position.

I'm actually surprised your car weighs that much.

Not a lot removed from my car but seats and glass hood ... Everyone thinks a 2.3 is light, an aluminum head 5.0 is lighter than a 2.3 (both dressed)

Wow. I wouldn't have thought it weighed that much.
