    Dumped exhaust

I have moved into test mode getting some things tried before the snow flies. Planning on Bradenton again in early March so it's a short winter and no chance to test before we tow 1100 miles to race ....

one of the changes on deck deck is an ARB. Simple enough in most cases, but my 3" tailpipe had a bend right where the bar mounts, no way in hell I could have both. So for the first time since I put the car together, my tractor doesn't have a tail pipe and is dumped. We will see if I can stand it dumped or will need to figure out another tailpipe set-up ...

    https://youtu.be/eLfR07OOgQQ

the other bonus, I have never even tried the car with an open downpipe. Now it's about 15 minutes to have the whole exhaust off. That's on the test list for the rental.

It's odd, at least idle and light rev it's not louder, just a bit deeper.

tail pipe was 9.5#.i actually think and gains from dropping the rest of the exhaust would be from the weight rather than restriction.

i could never run duals before because there was a fuel pump where the passenger muffler would live. I changed that so I could go dual and smaller no and dual.

Remember this is a turbocharged 4 cylinder with a straight through muffler .... I'm not sure drone will be as much an issue as noise and smell

Hood stack would fix all the problems. And mine wasn't bad daily driven dumped at the firewall. When it ran **rolls eyes**

Way back I was looking at an up elbow with a rain cap and you talked me out of it.

oh, I'm sorry but you aren't the first person I consider when talking about tolerable exhaust

You'll need a taller gear soon unless you add more RPM.

I'm hoping it's enough to let me try a touch more boost. We will see, it's only short term until winter then I'm redoing the fuel system to make way for more boost and be ready for E85 if I decide to go that route (right now still not sold).

There is a really tricky line I walk. I need gear off the line, but could stand less on the top end. The car is actually at a point it would likely do better if I went from the 4.30 back to a 4.10 but don't think I would 60' like it's been. The other issue is that I still run a lot on a 11.00 index and in the heat so turned down for that it needs the 4.30. Right now the strategy is the 4.30 works up front and just run it out the back to whatever it goes to :D

It's about 3 hours tow for me from Greensburg ...

Saturday is the MD speed real street class plus other street classes (11.50 or quicker is either pro street or Quick 16). Sunday is open test and tune. I need to get on a track this weekend so watching weather for both locations although I like the idea of racing on Saturday. Not sure I can count on the rental Sunday with the forecast
