FWIW, they also beat on me to move to a SA helmet although it was a suggestion. Wasn't just me, telling everyone with a 2005 to have a new one for next year.
    I am pretty certain IHRA and NHRA go 12 years from the date of the helmet, unless otherwise outlined in the rules. Interesting NMRA is shorter. My Impact is SA2005, and still feels like a good piece. Until I have to move to a new one, I'm going to keep running it. I'll go to Impact again when it's time to buy.

    I read the IHRA link, and probably beating a dead horse, but either the way I said it, or 12 years is the same thing

    2005-2009 = 5 years
    2010-2014= 5 years
    2015 = year 11
    2016= year 12

    I cant find direct links to NHRA rule book and I don't know anyone with a 2017 yet, but found this on class racer:

    NHRA Helmet Expiration Dates

    Label Expires
    Snell 2000 1/1/2012
    Snell 2005 1/1/2017
    Snell 2010 1/1/2022
    SFI 31.1A 1/1/2014
    SFI 31.2A 1/1/2014

    Dunno, just going with what I was told too. Nobody locally has looked at my helmet date in years, but two of the most checked things when I travel are belt dates and helmet date.

    I like the way that sounds. What's getting a turbo?

    KRP tech has looked at my helmet, on points days. The only place that looked at my helmet was Norwalk 5 years ago at the Halloween Classic.

    Update:

    Swapping to a fresh second generation DSM head, Lancer Evolution 3 intake manifold, FIC 2150CC injectors, Twin walbro 450HP pumps, and flex fuel setup.

    Now that the weather's broken, what's everyone's status? I just finally got all the parts sorted out and now I need to get them put on.

    Good progress!
    My car is running great, but it's not track ready. I need to get the race trans together and installed, slicks mounted/screwed, and high boost tune dialed in. I doubt I'll get it track ready until soccer and cub scouts are over sometime in May-June.

    The '14 is mostly done - suspension upgrades installed ( coil-overs, watts link, LCA's and relo brackets ). Still have to get a rear sway bar that will clear the watts, and get the car aligned and tuned. Hoping for low 12's on stock tires.

    '66 upgrades are underway - parts are all here - installing new tubular front LCA's, strut rods, new master cylinder and big disc brakes all around. Then bigger fuel line - might sump the tank, alignment, tires, and a bunch of little fixes.
    2014 GT Premium - Sterling Gray Metallic - MT82 - Track Pack - Glass Roof - Recaro seats - Spoiler delete
    12.76 @ 114.04 bone stock. Koni yellow coil-overs, BMR watts, LCA and LCA relo brackets, Borla S-type axle back.

    1966 Coupe - 331 stroker - Bullet custom roller cam - cam and motor installed and dyno tuned by Rodeheavers Hot Rod - Astro A5 - McLeod RXT - 486 to the wheels - more fun than my little tires can handle

    1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - currently NOT on jackstands

    Mark - you need to bring her to the PVGP this year. You'd love watching the races and walking thru the paddock and talking with the owners & drivers. Plus, 3000 cars are fun to check out too.

    Waaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy behind where I want or need to be. Last year I broke 2 transmissions and a cylinder head before the end of March. I still see mine as two weeks out assuming nothing bites me. Still don't have my upper intake yet, that's going to be my pace setter.

    I totally feel your pain there. I was hoping to be working on the DSM already. Instead, I am working on getting stuff out of the way so that I can get to working on the DSM.

    Transmission freshened up by Wholesale, barely needed anything after 2 full seasons of double classing/double entering. Engine out, cam swapped. Need to get my gaskets and put it back together and get both back in. Shooting for April 15 TnT

    Oh come on..."some nice numbers..."

    Seriously? You're going to tease us with that?

    I got paired with an Evo one time at the track. Thing ran mid 10's at 140. Those cars are sick.

    I'd like to see how it runs before I start throwing numbers around. I've seen some big number cars with lackluster track times. I will say, the numbers are humble in comparison with the high standards of today's cars.
