My dad had a red 66 396 4 speed when I was a toddler. It's what started my hole fettish with muscle cars.

    Nice car.

First round of work done. Sitting, even in a climate controlled garage, really takes a toll. The floats were stuck in the carbs. It now had a single 4 barrel and a regular GM HEI. Bunch of brake work, a steering box, some front end work, the right steering wheel, wheels and tires, the right front seats , underhood wiring harnesses, and the list goes on. The way some of the aftermarket wiring was done was so bad I just pulled all the aftermarket stuff out, got the factory stuff working again, and started replacing some of it. The vintage looking tach from Autometer that I put in looks right at home in the car. The throw out bearing started making noise so I will throw a clutch in it. The trans. has a little leak, but I am holding off on fixing it. If I can bring myself to stomach the cost it will likely get a 5 speed. The car is just 100 dollaring me to death, but it is coming along. One good thing that happened is the car had 67 Corvette seats with headrests in it when I got it. I sold those seats for enough to cover the cost of seat cores, seat covers, seat foam, seat emblems, and having them put together. Some-one at the track looked at the Keystone Class Winner stickers and told me they are from the 70's and probably from the early 70's. That is right in line with the story I got when I bought the car. Hopefully it will be sorted out enough to actually go down the track sometime this year.

Was there something wrong with the rear wheels
in the first post of this thread? I know I'm good
at spending other people's money, but I think
some Welds or some other snazzy wheels would
look great on your sweet ride.

They were 14x10's with M5014 Tires. They stuck out too far and you can't get the tires anymore.
