Finically found some motivation with the weather getting nicer. Engine side of things together with new cam and new intake set up. New fuel system from pump to rail, a few other little things. A pile of details left but the list is getting shorter

I'm going to start the season with the 5858 turbo but an upgrade is coming. Moving from Precision to Borg Warner, SXE300 type stuff ;)
So far I love my BW s369-sxe on the Mach. I think you'll like that series.

Seems like 78 lb/min would be good for at least 150hp over your current turbo. The compressor map looks great for the strip, especially if you can really rev it.

The goal is to be able to rev it more ... the 5858 was a great fit with what my combo flowed and where it stopped making power (intake and cam driven). Now with then new cam and intake, the turbine is a choke. Rough rough numbers, at 6,000 rom and 30# boost the turbine pressure is 1.5:1 boost pressure ... new turbo will be very close to 1:1 at 7,000 rpm ... the risk is how it will come off launch boost. That's why I'm going with the forge milled wheel hoping it helps a couple hundred RPm. I have a pretty good hook up on the BW stuff now so am getting a solid deal on this.
7K shift will help a lot. I agree it might be lazy off the line. 6K rpm 2-step. :)

I'm 6400 now, likely 6800 after this
more rpm fixes everything

Ran out to test and tune last night for a bit and picked up some C12 for start up. The Vert makes a good parts hauler
Broke both of my transmissions down for inspection. Had the input pilots ground to 4 banger pilot diameter so I can go back to a bearing instead of a bushing. Bushing worked but just could not predict when it would fail until it ate a gear (I knew it then). Put them back together tonight, ready to install one of the tomorrow.
why are the teeth angled on the one ????

Believe it or not, the 2.92 helical has become my preferred weapon of choice. For the life of my I cant figure out why, but it is sooooo much smoother than the straight cut box on gear changes. Two different animals for sure, the helical is about finesse, the straight cut is rape your cousin brutal.
Fired the junk up tonight ....
