Ray already answered this, but I agree that it would depend on the tuner. I would imagine that you could find some extra horsepower by not pulling timing, but I wonder how hot the ambiant temp would have to get before it would cause some detonation if the timing never retarded.. They actually sell resistors on e-bay that plug into the iat sensor to fool the computer that the air temp. is always cold so that it won't pull timing.

I heard that buying one of those resistors is the worst thing you can do to your car.

I sure wouldn't put one on mine, but in theory it would work. The intake air sensor just has a resistance value that varies based on the temperature, the resistor just provides the sensor a constant value (which would keep timing at max advance)

Given rule is 100hp = 1sec, 100lbs = 1 tenth(course when it comes to heavy vehicles or low ET vehicles then more power or weight reduction is needed to run faster).

I'd say pulleys on a 2v mod motor are good for about 10-12hp at the flywheel which should drop about a tenth off the ET of a 99+ GT.

As for the IAT sensor. On earlier cars that had seperate IAT from MAF you could pull sensor from intake tube and put it in fender where air should be cooler. I think I tried that on my 2000Gt but don't remember much if any improvement at track.

Might as well be a DYNO QUEEN.
Bring it to the track one time I want to race the old pig and put a whooping on it.

Not sure if 100 lbs. weight reduction is *worth* a tenth.( Where the weight is takin' out of and *if* the car can hook after the weight reduction) What I've discovered is the requisite 100 lb. loss or less when the car becomes lighter, is that it will give you 1 MPH. To say a tenth per 100 lb. requires proper weight distribution and a suspension that is working.
