How much weight does the lightweight steering column save ? I had considered this as well but hadn't found a company that you could retain the street car stuff with - nice find
I guess weight savings depends on the starting combo ... I've seen from 4# to 25# across the internet, lol. My car has a tilt column, and what is by comparison to whats going in, a heavy steering wheel. We will see in the end, I will weigh it as I go.
The reality, I'll take 5# at this point. I am converting to manual brakes and will have the column out to pull the pedal box so I figured now was the best time to make the change. As much as anything, this was driven by some "wants" rather than function. I wanted a removable wheel with that Strange Hub, and have had fuzzy steering wheel envy since my buddy got a Cobra Jet wheel.
If I can get 20# out of the car with manual brakes, column, and misc stuff under the dash in that area I'll call it a win.
I'll get you the info on the bottle brackets you were interested in last time you saw my brackets.

If we cant laugh, there's no point, lol ... Small displacement junk
It's a roller now so an easier sell without the 2.3 stuff ;) With the demise of Renegade Racing, I might need to step my game way up to run that Maryland Speed Street car stuff
good zoom, my junk likes 1st gear and I was able to swap from a 4.30 gear to a 4.10 now ... lets me run 1/8th mile in third gear and still picked up a touch of launch ration (2.92 + 4.30 versus 3.17 +4.10)
My winter pace has been slooooowwwwww this year. New short block is at the machine shop so I’m on that schedule. It’s all going the right way, good work is worth waiting on.
And to close out what the hell was going on .... when I tore down the short block we found the issue. The top ring on all 4 holes was stuck .... 2nd ring on 2 holes was stuck... oil rings on 2 holes was stuck (lined up with 1&3 that showed oil on the plugs) ... the rest of the bullet, skirts, bearings, everything looked really good for 5 seasons, 100’s of passes, and 1,000’s of Street miles.
what was really odd is ring grooves was really clean, it just crushed the rings in the grooves.
new bullet well under way. I can’t wait to see what the thing might do with some ring seal after what it was doing with not much of that, lol
