Kooks headers on 2013 GT,which exhaust gaskets and bolts???

I bought a set of used Kooks headers and x-pipe for my 2013 GT a while ago. I am getting ready to install them. They didn't come with gaskets or hardware. Which exhaust gaskets and bolts should I go with? Thanks. Mark

I am pretty sure I reused the stock gaskets and I know I used the stock bolts .

OK,awesome. Sounds like I don't need to order any more parts then. I didn't realize that you could re-use the stock bolts with the Kooks. Thanks yeahloh95!

yeah they are crimped and kinda hard to get off and back on but they don't come loose , you do need to start one on the pass side before you have the header all the way on the stud or you wont be able to get it started look for the tube with the tight bend right by the bolt hole .

Did the same. One starter bolt is PITA. Used a few 1/4" extensions to get to that bolt. What size primaries did you go with?

I believe they are the 1 7/8" primaries. Do you guys recommend removing the k-member or is it possible to install them without removing it?

It can be done without removing it. Did it on the ground the first time. 2nd time on a lift. Never hurts to use some heat reflective tape that was supplied to wrap around the starter.

I will be doing mine up on jack stands. I don't really want to remove the k-member,but I will if I have to. Thanks for the tips fellas. I appreciate it!

Reused all stock hardware/gaskets, removed battery, tray and starter, both motor mount brackets. 7 hours start to finish on jackstands. Not as difficult a job as a lot of people lead it on to be. Hardest part is top starter bolt.

Mitternacht it's good to hear that your install went pretty well while doing it on jackstands. I have heard some horror stories on some other sites. I am feeling more confident after reading posts from a few of you guys. Thanks for the reply.

You'll get it man. If you were closer I'd help you through it. Take your time. I read the horror stories too. I used a combination of closed end, open end and ratcheting closed end wrenches for the header install. Like Troy was saying leave the header bolts loose until all are started. The 1 7/8" primaries get tight on some the bends.

I am planning on starting this job soon, probably next week. I'm going to pick up some flex head ratchet wrenches. Wish me luck. I post back with how it goes. Thanks again to everyone for the replies.

Well I finally got all of my exhaust put on. I installed Kooks 1 7/8" mid lengths/catted x-pipe,GT500 over axle pipes and kept my Roush mufflers. It sounds pretty mean now! Thanks for the advice Troy,Pure Stock and Mitternacht. Now I just need to put on my 2018 intake manifold,JLT cai and SCT x4.

My exhaust setup was Pypes longtubes, 3" x-pipe, lethal oap's and quad-tip GT500 mufflers. It was easily the meanest sounding car I've ever owned and I miss the noises that car made.

I also got my 2018 intake manifold and JLT CAI installed. I got a base tune from Shaun@AED loaded in the car last night. I just need to figure out how to data log now.
