    What Size slicks?

I am looking to take my car to Keystone before the end of the season for a test n tune night, I've never bought a set of slicks before. What size should I buy? I have a set old Jegs 5 stars wheels, They are 15x8 with offset of+27. Car has gears in it I believe 3:73 or 4:10. Thanks

A lot of missing information to make a solid recommendation.

on those wheels you are best with a 10” slick or a 11.50 in the DOT stuff like a Quick Time Pro or ET Street R.

diameter is where the more info is needed. With either a 3.73 or 4.10 I would 80% of the time say 26” to protect the gear. That said, if a 4.10 and wanting solid hook a 28” is wonderful. The risk with a 28” is it might suck out too much gear and want to bog. This is why actual gear, combo, and all that needs to be discussed. With a 28 you have to be willing to get at it on the line (more rpm).

dont forget if your adding slicks you need a drive shaft loop on your shopping list if you don’t have one.

Yes its for the my current mustang, I have a driveshaft loop in it. Its in the shop now getting tuned with the megasquirt and wideband and I asked to see what gears are in it while they have it, I never checked. Will know HP and TQ soon also. I beleive it has something for gears but not sure what .Ill find out soon. Its a 5 speed 5.0 mustang 1990 notch. All bolt ons. When I find out more information I will post it. Going to ask Tim when I pick the car up what he recommences also.

Change gear to 5.13 and run a 26” no chance of bogging.

Just don't let off idle Troy set the 2 step. otherwise, seems logical to me.

Unless it's silly for gears, or some amazing power numbers, the classic 26-10 slick or 26-11.50 DOT (either Quick Time Pro or ET Street R) are the go to for the 5.0/T5 deal. Lots and lots of passes on those tires with 5.0's. Fits well on a 15 x 8 wheel, fits well on the car, all around hard to beat.
