    Machine shop average.

It's been along time since I have done any engine builds. Looking to get a short block 302 roller motor to stoke out. What is the average cost today to have a bare engine bore .30 or.40 over and decking. Can anyone recommend a shop in the area. Use to take mine to a place near west,pa but they are out of business. Not going crazy on this just a n/a motor something to do when I have some down time and extra money. Probably taken year or so to complete. Thanks!!

I’d ask Tim at Rodeheavers. He knows his Fords.

I always take my stuff to DLK in Russelton (West Deer twp). Their prices seemed reasonable.

Block: Hot tank, Bore .030 over, Line bore on the crank journals, Grind crank, New soft plugs, Heads: Planed, new valve guides & seats, New Valves, springs & retainers... That is the big stuff. He also supplied gasket kit, pistons, Rings, oil pump, Really All I had to do was put it back together. Great to work with. This guy will only do a motor after he "interviews" you. He goes thru a bunch of questions to see if your thought process matches up to his style. I wanted it done right, I was not looking to cut corners. ( Shop is north of Hermitage PA ) Called Transfer Performance Machine Owner is Teddy. (724) 962-2520
