Just got a new f150 truck for work ,and coming from a ram 1500 previously, the ram is so much more comfortable. Nice rig
I really wanted to get back into a Ford truck. Went and drove both a 3.5 and 5.0 trucks. At the price point I wanted to be at, I was looking at STX trim versus this BigHorn. The Ram wins the interior game hands down.
driving both the Fords optioned to tow, I didn’t feel either felt as strong as the Ram with the gears (for what you can feel in a test drive). I really went into this thinking 3.5 ecoboost max tow (36 gallon gas tank) and just couldn’t get past the interior feel.
in the end, the Ram was $4k cheaper with everything being offered and cheap money at 1.9% ... the 5.7 and 8 speed are mostly unchanged in this new generation and it towed very good for me the last 5 years.
For what it’s worth, I traded my 15 with 61.5k miles on it. When I first hooked my trailer to it, I reset that trip odometer and it had nearly 15k miles shown. 25% of the miles on the truck was towing my enclosed trailer. Not overly heavy, but something like 6-6500# loaded, been all over the east coast from the Great Lakes to Florida and the East coast to Chicago. No shame for the old set up, can only hope this one does as well.
