Clutch is still in the car.
as part of my win in Kentucky, I won “my choice” of RXT clutch and flywheel. Their VP was there and said he would really like to see his product in my car and offered a full soft lock for free. I don’t see that there will be much difference beside how the levers work (black magic uses unique levers). The “plan” has gone off the rails because of how this has come together, but was going to start the season with the McLeod and get it broke in and get a tune up worked out for it.
while running the McLeod I can send the Black Magic out for service. When it got back, make the call between the two of what to really run. Assuming the Black Magic is better, I would at least have the McLeod broke in as a spare in case I ever nuked mine.
grabbing the chance to get in with a company but I’m not sure I’m comfortable with them after all this. Cale and Black Magic aren’t exactly optimum for servicing the clutch, but he always returns my calls / texts, and talks to me at the track if needed.several other cars running the McLeod stuff getting some real product from them. That would sure be a help if it was reliable.
Driver upgrade was needed, sort of put a hold on everything for 6-8 weeks.
had to have my elbow cut to move the nerve out of the joint so I get feeling back in my hand.
Can’t let being laid up hold me up
ive Forever run a log header. Lots of debate on logs versus tubular. The opportunity came up for a very well build equal length tube header from a well known builder so I’m going to give it a try. All high grade schedule 10 stainless steel.
Best wishes towards a speedy recovery, Bob!!!

It’s going in to get broke in and figure out a tune up, but don’t see it in there long term.
Parts all fit together anyway.
set starting base pressure and counterweight.
Not sure why it missed this upload.
the mantra is less base weight, more counter weight. Start at 15 grams per lever
C4 the explosive if it doesn’t work, lol.
I’ve always said I will just quit racing if I can’t stick race. I always thought my knees (particularly my left one) would get me, turns out my hand / elbow was trying to stop it. Got my stitches out today, a couple more weeks of light duty then I can start pushing it a little more.
Glad to hear your on the mend. Looking forward to seeing you at the track.

I can’t count how many times I’ve pulled the head off this thing, so decided to add a degree of difficulty and do it left handed
head needed to come off for a trip to the machine shop. Need to cut the spring pads for more installed height so I can run this “new” cam. Waiting around isn’t going to help the lead time at the shop so powered through getting it pulled and stripped today. Off to the shop next.
Yeah of course I know the joke, lol.
way to much in the stick game to turn back now, lol
For my next trick… going to pull the transmission and clutch left handed, lol
